1. No, but most of them do. The most popular commercial modchips, that is, Wiikey, Wiinja Deluxe (with the proper layerbreak), and Cyclowiz, all support it. YAOSM supports dual layer as well, and that's a great open source chip.

You should also use good media, and +R media works better for dual layer than -R, and use a trusted brand like Verbatim.

2. Yes, they should, but some drives may require a laser adjustment even with the original game. It is rare, however, so try more media and burner combinations if you do get disc read errors.

Just wondering, but how would a laser adjustment be done if necessary?
