Hardware Repairing a N3DS (non-XL)?

Hello,
I'm considering buying a Japanese N3DS (non-XL), which I can switch the Region, if I can't set it to English...
Apparently, the N3DS intermittently freezes and locks up after using it for a while.
I'm probably thinking it's a motherboard issue, but I'm not sure.

Should I replace the motherboard? Is the motherboard the culprit? Otherwise, what is the issue? Does anyone here repair N3DSes?

Could be a faulty sd card... if its around $40 American id buy it, if not its a waste of money if its more than the sd being bad.

Where would you get a non-XL n3ds motherboard? I've been looking for one, but no luck.

Yeah, I looked all over the internet. There was one chinese site that had tons of 3ds parts. Pretty much anything and everything, except n3ds motherboards...
