SOON!2 it's safer than FBI
also, if you are going to talk about bricks, let's point at FBI, if you delete something you can't delete, it will brick you
SOON!2 hides ALL the stuff you CAN NOT DELETE, so, it it's safer.
you both, @einhuman197 and @MsMidnight are talking without a single clue of what SOON!2 is. First take a look at the app, then test it, then talk.

Same issue here, currently on newest 3DS firmware with latest stable version of Luma3DS 9.1

I open and nothing but a black screen.

I am trying on my cousin's n3DSXL
