There is the problem. You need the N3DS firmware file.
Otherwise it freezes with a black bottom screen? Without any error?
Do you have the 0004013820000002orig.bin in the rxTools/data folder from th reinand pastie?
You need the 0004013820000002orig.bin from the reinand pastbin inside the rxTools/data folder for it to work.
More info needed. CFW's only work on sysnand 9.2 and lower for both old and new 3ds. If you meet those criteria then your emunand on old can go up to 10.2 and new3ds to 9.5. Ninjhax entrypoints work on rxtools.

I've seen there is new stuff like coldboot and all, but I absolutely don't know what it is and how it works. I said it *run crying*

The benefit of gateway is to use 3ds roms on gateway red card. And for me personally, I use gateway mode to update emunand as it works 100% everytime. With rxtools being changed often you never know what breaks what and there is always a possiblity that updating can update the wrong Nand. This is only my opinion and what I find myself being comfortable doing.
