NOTICE:
It has come to my attention that my old download links and instructions were within the gbatemp rules. I am not linking any actual roms, or full romfs files. I am only linking the individual edited files required to play Rising Sun & Waning Moon. If this is threatened to be taken down once more, I ask that mods first look and tell me why the Nova Sun/Umbra Moon mods do the same and have remained up.

Lets start off with some context. Currently, pk3DS allows us to edit the trainers and move sets of pokemon within Pokemon Sun and Moon. I decided to go ahead and create a challenge mode of sorts, similar to that of Pokemon Blaze Black/Volt White. Currently editing wild encounters!

Changes:

• Trial Captains and Kahunas now all have teams of 6 Pokemon.
• Level curve greatly changed. Team should be in high 70s/low 80s by the end of the elite 4.
• Trainers have Pokemon not usually seen in Alola.
• Movesets of weaker Pokemon is finished.
• Youngster Joey has a top percent Rattata.
• Wild encounters up until the post game are finished! Have fun everyone!
• Custom music for post game returning trainers.
• Almost every Pokemon has access to their hidden ability.

A NOTE ABOUT INSTRUCTIONS:
THE EASIEST METHOD IS GETTING A CFW, DO IT WHILE YOU CAN.​

Instructions: (CFW Required for this method. See other method below if you don't have a CFW) I also still need to make the method easier for Pokemon Sun users, sorry!

THINGS YOU NEED:
- Latest nightly build of luma. (Get this through the .cia updater)
- The hack's GARC files (the stuff that actually overwrites the original assets) Get it from the Google Drive link

New and Updated Instructions! About time!

Luma Game Patcher Method:

• • Create a folder named titles inside luma.
  • Create a folder with the game's title id as the name (0004000000164800 for Sun, 0004000000175E00 for Moon) inside titles.
• Create a folder titled romfs within luma/titles/(titleID)
• Place the "a" and "data" folders within the "romfs" folder.
• Make sure "Enable Game Patcher" is checked in luma3ds setup.
• Start Sun/Moon

Thats it! Easiest way to tell if its working is by starting a new game or checking your Trainer Passport.

FOR POKEMON SUN USERS: RENAME THE "3" FILE IN a\0\8\ TO "2"

Layeredfs: (These instructions only apply if you use the Layeredfs files)

The LayeredFS feature allows you to replace RomFS files with files on the SD card for most games. To use it:

• Create a folder named titles inside luma.
• Create a folder with the game's title id as the name (0004000000164800 for Sun, 0004000000175E00 for Moon) inside titles.
• Create a folder called romfs in the game's folder.
• Place the "a" and "data" folders within the "romfs" folder.
• For example, to use LayeredFS with Pokémon™ Sun, make a folder named romfs , put your replacement files in it, then put romfs in 0004000000164800.

FOR POKEMON SUN USERS: RENAME THE "3" FILE IN a\0\8\ TO "2"

Todo:

• Re balance according to feedback.
• Re balance Pokemon move sets and stats once tools are available.
• Add in last few Pokemon. (Some starters, legendaries, etc.)
• Finish documentation on the various changes.

@Kobazco , can you add all starters from all gen 1 - 7 into wild encounter in your beta 2.0 ? maybe you can now update/fixed the other important stuff first in upcoming update of beta 1.6 , 1.7 , 1.8 & 1.9 but i hope we can catch all gen starters in beta 2.0,hopefully by Jan 2017 you can done it!

And then ,i hope in beta 3.0 we can catch all 802 mons in the wild ! Maybe Beta 3.0 will turn out to be your completed version 1 hackrom ...

thanks man, i was on your twitter... followed a lonk and it lead me back here lol........... i check again......thanks for the hard work and effort you put into this............ i just wanna make things easier for my 7 year old..... bought him the legit copy for christmas for his 3ds..... bought a 2ds new sealed for £60 and installed freeshop etc. just want to download something to make the game easier for him. thanks

I found a bug in beta 1.5,everytime(second round,third round) we go challenge the elite 4 , the champion will be Professer Kukui and not the other trainer,how to fix it?I want to battle with other trainer instad of Kukui ...

You're just unlucky. I've done the league title defense and have so far gotten Hau and Gladion. Also I think Kukui is the only rematch I haven't edited yet so rip.

Huh? They haven't been reduced whatsoever. And the order has always been random, even in the original game. I would check to make sure you have the correct files. There NEVER was any order to the champion battles, even in the vanilla game.

I only copy paste the files you mention on page 37 to build the rom,do you means the GARC file beta 1.5 we need to copy everything and paste everything into romfs folder for building the correct beta 1.5?

But i sure i had copy paste a/1/0/4 , 5 & 6 for building the rom,these 3 files is for trainers right?

At this point, just use everything within the GARC files folder. I removed the un needed files. I'll get to uploading a new version possibly tomorrow anyway. I'll have all of the league challengers finished up by then anyway.

I rebuild the whole rom of beta 1.5 again but still not working,Professor Kukui keep on battling me at the end ,i had beat Elite 4 for 3 times today but the same person appear at the end,as what we know,the last trainer is random by default,i think i accidentally deleted some file inside the romfs folder ,so,now i think i need to find a new original rom to rebuild it again since the existing stuff was corrupted in data

The definitive version that you would wanna play would likely be all trainers/wild pokemon edited since movepools and such will probably be done over a long period of time. Soon tm. Also for @X Virus , The champion battle is referred to the same as any other trainer battle :/ You messed it up on your own somehow

Are the Trainers/Wild Pokemon done? Also you should have a Post-game list with locations to the newly added 1% legandaries or special battles (like battling 'you' in game)
