You must edit pfba config txt file with your roms path.

Hi @cpasjuste and @rsn8887 there is some possibility of adding support for comand list in figthing games of CPS2 and Neo Geo like the NJ PSP Emus.

And add support for cheats like fba4droid and similar.

It has been a while since there is an update, we hope that it can improve speed in some games such as data east and others.

Greetings and thanks for your work friends.

Sorry for my english I speak spanish.

Has anybody tested input lag of PFBA compared to retroarch, on PSTV and VIta? Is it similar to Retroarch or larger? I don't have a test setup (fast camera etc.) to measure input lag, but I would be interested.

For example, one could test time between button press and punch animation in KOF. Test it in Retroarch and in PFBA to see any difference. I think Retroarch is very well optimized for minimum input lag. I am not so sure how PFBA compares.

The problem is I am trying to judge it subjectively without measurement, checking how it "feels." I am not sure if there really is a difference or if my brain is playing tricks on me.

i've tried only pfba (not retroarch) on my pstv. i found the input lag very annoying (i used a dualshock 4 in wireless mode) and i can confirm that games are quite unplayable in wireless mode. that's why i'm waiting for a fix of this emulator which can also increase the emulation speed of some other games. only neogeo and capcom systems are well emulated. other "game systems", tipically of mame, are running too slow (i tried altered beast, crime fighters 2, joe & mac caveman ninja... all unplayable).

Why does my vita seem to be blocked on left or right joypad direction while in Pfba ? I've get to make it work like charm on last blade 2 and shocktro but even in game my control are messed up.

New release fixes loading of many console games (need filename prefix, e.g. pce_xxx for pc engine, etc.), thank you to SoftechSoftware! Also might have fixed some input lag.

Fba was made to be an arcade emulator and the console cores are more of an afterthought. Therefore I would recommend using Retroarch for the consoles. The snes9x 2005 core works quite well on Retroarch Vita.

Having a bit of a problem getting PFBA to recognise; Megadrive, Mastersystem, SG1000, Game Gear, PC Engine, Coleco and MSX roms. Everything else is recognised and works fine (eg. CPS1 CPS2 NEO GEO etc).

Im using the FBA_v0.2.97.39 reference set. I originally placed everything in the roms folder; as in i took all the zips out of the PCE, MSX, Coleco (etc) folder and merged it with the main roms folder. That didnt work aka they show up as missing.

I then deleted them all, and copied them again but this time keeping the FBA reference set folder structure (ie. "ux0:/data/pfba/roms/pce/" , "ux0:/data/pfba/roms/msx/" etc) and that didnt work either. I then tried adding this to my pfba.cfg file...

ROMS_PATHS :
{
ROMS_PATH0 = "ux0:/data/pfba/roms/";
ROMS_PATH1 = "ux0:/data/pfba/roms/pce/";
ROMS_PATH2 = "";
ROMS_PATH3 = "";
};

...to test and see if i could get PFBA to recognise the pce roms inside that folder, but still no luck. Im also unsure as to whether the app is infact rescanning the roms directory, which i was thinking could also be the problem.

Im stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

EDIT:

Im using - pfba-2017.01.29
EDIT:

Nevermind. I figured it out. Turns out all the roms must be in one folder, but the ones which have their own folder in the reference set (v0.2.97.39) must be given a prefix (eg. cv_, gg_, sms_, msx_, sg1k_ etc). Took me <10 mins to do it using Bulk Rename Utility.

So Im after getting PFBA to recognise MSX, PCE, Coleco, Game Gear, Megadrive, Master System and SG1000 but the roms either dont work or cause an appcrash (C2-12828-1).

Is this normal?

I think this is supposed to just run CPS1-3 Games ONLY

PFBA does more than CPS1/2/3, in regards to arcade.

And as of 1.15 posted above it does some console emulation too which I won't be using but it's nice to have all the roms included in the reference set working (for the most part). :)

you can access as you say, to service mode ,,,, but not to dip switch, lives, difficulty, language, extra life points, etc.Update please pfba dip switch:yaypsp:

the outrun are in hardest by default

Thank you for the new pfba with 0.2.97.42 upgrade rom set !
Console games works quite well, except sometimes you get a crash when you want to change game. Coleco still doesn't work.

Sadly games like outrun or space harrier now have a problem with the direction. Left go right and right go left, and sometimes right and left just go right... Hope for a fix in the next update.
