You could have an experimental check: if TicketID highest Byte is set - Ninty can not sale that much isn't it. Yeah that's just experimental.
I used scripts to look for all my signed CIAs, dumped all those tickets into files, and checked their TicketID. pity that ctrtool can not easily read CETK
if there is a console id in the ticket in the ticket.db (and has a console id), the ticket has to be legit.
at the moment we can't edit the ticket.db, or install cias where the console id in the ticket is not 00000000 - so there is no need to check the legitimacy of a ticket
it would only make finding preinstalled tickets easier - because these have the console id of 000000 which is by default ignored because of system stuff + pirated stuff.
I'm come with a method to check if the cetk is valid:
Once it is installed, the cetk is inserted into ticket.db, which this tool mostly relies on. And to have the ticket.db you need CFW, and Decrypt9/RxTools/...
From Decrypt9 you can also have the already decrypted TitleKey binary. The decrypted titlekey can be used to decrypt the CDN contents.
Successfully decrypted content should be all NCCHs and checking if NCCH isn't that hard, just parse the signature length and find "NCCH" after it.
So once the decrypted key can not successfully decrypt any CDN contents as NCCH the key is likely to be invalid, yup.
You can make it as a advanced feature, cause this would requires a dec_titlekeys.bin with ticket.db. Ask users to place the dec_titlekey.bin with ticket.db.
And, for database.xml.. 00040000 - eShop/Game. 0004008C - DLC, 0004000e - Patch.
So SMT4F 0004000000166b00 means 0004008c00166b00 is its DLC.
Once it finds a eShop game named (with serial) replace part of its titleid to see if DLC/Patch exists, if so use the same name.
or the more advanced way to check, get the key and check to see if the signature is accurate.
or - why are you worried about this?
are you wanting to verify already created cias? i assume so
but then this shouldn't be discussed here right?
a friend had done the keys method and told me it worked, but we wouldn't be able to incorporate it in a program and share it because of keys...
fresh batch of database additions, from someone elses ticket.db this time (not sure if they would want to be named.....cant imagine why not, but just incase we shall just call him mr. x....so thanks mr. x ), although i went through them all to double check what was what but they had a lot of DSi ware
in regards to the DSi stuff, i have been doing the serial as displayed in dev menu (which is really just the internal name i guess) or the ID converted to ID4 i.e KGHO for G&W helmet, just so i know if i come across any more DSi stuff

yeah everything added was real titles no injections, well i guess its fairly easy to get the 4 digit ID for DSi as you can just convert the titleID from hex to ascii
Those are messy for now.. He sent us the file. It will be included in our next release (it will take a while because it will be a huge one. More than double the size of the latest db release)

Thank you for noticing that. I was the one who wrote them down. I got them from here: https://3dbrew.org/wiki/Title_list
The reason this mistake happened because every other table was JPN, USA, EUR.. Except for this table it was EUR, JPN, USA .. So I mixed them up. It will be fixed in the next release
About the second part:
Yeah noticed this a few days ago by accident while browsing a ticket. Already fixed for next release
Thank you so much this was very helpful. Please let me know if you spot other stuff
