i didnt read all 35 pages just the first so sorry if this has been asked by now:
we now can decrypt and unpack roms rigtht? so is it possible to open a game and deleat language files?
so if an eur game has DE,FR and IT traslation to just deleat FR and IT and repack it so that the game now only can start in that language(despite the settings of the 3ds)
i was going to reply with something like this, in reply to your post in the other thread, but yes, we don't know how to repack roms yet. i didn't say anything since it is not possible at the moment publicly.
as the guy above me says, sure, if you want german to be forced, you could simply copy the german language files and replace them over all the other languages - it sounds very possible in theory but this will probably have to be done on a game by game basis, replacing the game resources which are most likely in a different order and style in every game/developer.
when the 3ds gets hacked more this will be a relatively simple fix, relative to everything else. many ds flashcarts have this feature (forcing a language).
when we get cheats and codes (ram editing) this may happen too
there are a bunch of different ways to do it, but not really any that will work 'today'
-as you can imagine, something like this is not very high priority for gateway, to enable us to select dutch language on an eur rom using a japanese console, there would have to be a gateway settings/options, or a text configuration file... etc, something like that.
gateway does not have any user configurable options at the moment, and if they ever do make an options menu, i doubt this will be the first thing in it
