People are telling personal adventure stories again - for the most part.
So to cut things short. Use .chd compressed .gdi files if you can. They are smaller than .cdi files and single file - and .cdi files themselves are a cause for sound issues - (video issues to, if they would work), because they are basically edited .gdi files with compressed or removed sound or video tracks. (To fit on CD-Roms way back in the day.)
(Both of the files from the .chd compression package (.bat and .exe) need to be in the same folder as all your .gdi and track files. Then you can drag/drop the .gdi onto the .bat)
So using a .cdi - and complaining about sound issues, is another one of this sweet "if only I knew what I was doing" moments. Just - dont?
Information on how to compress files to .chd format alsready is in the thread (last link in this post:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/reicast...tch-horizon-alpha.538394/page-12#post-8635328 ).
Also Soul Reaver is unplayable as well because fo texture issues. And needs CPU OC to 1.2 GHz as well.
Main issues with this port so far:
- Texture issues. Several.
- Not having implemented pixel accurate alpha blending (would fix even more texture issues in Shenmue (faces, notebook)
- Most of the FMVs dont work
- Not having overclock controls in app.
All of the stuff above works in reicast on lakka.
Also - FMVs on lacka need temporary Overclock to 1.7 GHz - which is why in emulator OC options would be nice - so people could actually watch FMVs eventually. Or if this is an ffmpeg issue again (as it was with PPSSPP (older ffmpeg version needed, or quick code change - )) please look into that as well (see:
https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/issues/11490 ).

How to permanently patch in codebreaker codes into 1st_read.bin via hex edit:
https://assemblergames.com/threads/dreamcast-widescreen-hacks.58620/page-35#post-924548
(For reference. Start with the Shenmue example a few pages back - as it already has the hexedit codes.
)
edit: Use simple patcher a few postings down.
edit: Or dont. Sample patcher would be only useful, if you know which file the hex patches have to be applied to. Later on in the thread, there are hex codes posted for games that need different files than just the 1st_read.bin file patched. So preferably look for those instead/first.
