If you have an ATI or Nvidia graphics card, you can use old Steam promos to get Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Lost Coast (single level). Peggle and Alien Swarm are also pretty good free Steam games.

You should try League of Legends (LOL). It's a fun team based online game. It's based off a popular Warcraft 3 custom map Defense of the Ancients (DOTA). A few of the people who created DOTA actually work for LOL. Just go take a look at their site here: League of Legends

Minecraft or download steam and google free ati steam or free nvidia steam and try one of those and you will get awesome gun games, If you uses the ati then search on steam synergy and install the games and you can play half life 2 online.
