sorry if this has already been answered, but does this require you to dump the disc to your PC and then the program will move the songs onto SD or will you be able to export songs straight from the wii
Right now, yea you need to dump RB, ACDC, Track Packs to the Computer

Do we need to extract the songs folder in the ark ourselves or will Rawk read the ISO and extract song folder from the ark files itself?

EDIT: Will this work with the Track Pack Vol 1, 2 and the Classic Track Pack?

but I assume it won't work as they were downloaded using a different IOS than IOS 37... Correct me if I'm wrong!

And I'm also available as a beta tester (though I think they won't let us in...)
It's likely they'd be afraid of it being leaked. Waninkoko learned his lesson from "beta testers". Their first "beta testing" will be when they make their first public release.

It's not that it would get leaked, it's that it's pretty much about done. There's a really cool looking GUI with lots of options and all that does almost all of the work for you, and the installer to SD Card is as simple as clicking. (Mind you guys, I'm still working with the "old" tools, command prompt style, I haven't actually used the GUI).
Sounds neat!

Yeah that sounds awesome!

What about some screenies now? Uh? Keep us informed, Please.

It reads directly from the ark file. Not sure if AerialX is going to add the ability to read directly from an ISO as well.
I already did, it supports both. We'll also release something for the Wii that dumps the ark directly to your SD card for those who don't want to dump their whole disc, mess with FTPii, etc.

Yeah and that's why these instruments work using the cIOS Mrk provided with the RB1 custom tutorial!

Where was that link? Somewhere in this thread?

Edit: If it's the first post to scorehero, I can't get there for some reason.

Theoretically, but quite a few things would have to be changed about. First off the guitar charts would likely register the star power phrases as solos in Rock Band, the bass charts have a "no fret" strum which Rock Band lacks, and I'm not even sure how that'd come out. The drums chart features five "frets" whereas Rockband's only features four, and if even possible, a converter of some sort would have to be made on how to apply a particular note on the GH drums to Rock Band's. And though I"m not sure at all about it, I'm sure that some type of conversion would have to be made with Guitar Hero's vocals chart.

The Guitar Hero Drums charts also feature a 4-note Rock Band Compatible chart for people who wanted to use their Rock Band Drum Set instead. No conversion is needed.

GH3 (and hence GH:A, I guess) importing is nearly done already, GHWT/GH:M will probably take a bit longer because it seems no-one has yet worked out a good method of extracting the charts.

How is that? Having to install to flash then add move to SD? Besides I cant see one song that I would want to play.

The point is, he tricks the game into thinking he owns all the DLC, however, he still has to download it anyway, so either way if he wants all DLC he ends up downloading the same volume of files, except pcs generally do it quicker than wiis over wifi.

And thanks, I just love being flamed

Not trying to flame u directly.

I just dont see it your way i guess? the one-up group has generously given their work to the public without the need for the glory ect. i think u should just be happy that they brought this to the scene rather then criticize their work negatively.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
