Homebrew "R4i SDHC 3DS RTS" for DSiXL

Okay, so I recently received an R4i SDHC 3DS RTS card for my DSiXL. My DSiXL version is 1.4.5 so it's updated to the newest version. The website that I bought the card from says that it works with the 3DS, 3DSXL, 2DS, DS, DSi, AND the DSiXL, the one that I have.

The website that I bought the card from told me to go the official site, www.r4i-sdhc.com, and download the latest firmware which is "R4i SDHC 3DS Kernel V1.79b".

I downloaded it and put into the root of my card just like they say to. I had "R4iMenu", "moonmemo", "moonshl2", "R4.dat", and "game", with a total of five game in that folder.

When I tried to play it, after clicking the game icon, it just took me to a black screen, and never did anything.

Later, I tried a different firmware, which was also suppposed to work on my DSiXL. It was "Wood R4i Gold V1.64". I put everthing into the root along with a "game" folder, with the same five games. It loaded up and I got the R4i screen with a way to browse different files. (they looked like R4i menu files and such.)
But none of the games were there.

I have no idea what is going on. if anyone has an idea, it would help. (And I know that its not a fake card, because it worked with the second firware KINDA, and I've ordered from the same site before.)

What game are you trying to load?

The games that I tried were "50 Classic Games 3D.3ds", "Bit-Trip Saga.3ds", "Kingdom Hearts 3D.3ds", "LEGO The Hobbit.3ds", and "Pokemon X.3ds". I tried all these games both in a "game" folder and in the root.

you downloaded 3ds games, which will never work in a dsi or a DS flashcart

the flashcart you own is a DS mode flashcart, it will only play NDS roms and homebrew

You should have done your research OP, most of the flashcart manufacturers when they say "3DS support" actually just mean that the card will boot and be able to play NDS games on a 3DS, not that it plays .3DS roms.

The only way to play .3DS roms currently is to use Gateway 3DS or MT-Card, but there is a catch: you will need a certain obsolete 3DS firmware in order for these cards to work (3DS OS 4.1-4.5.0), and consoles with these firmwares can be hard to come by.

I admit that I was pretty confused at first too, but there on this site, GBATemp, you should really be able to find all the information you need to know in order to make an informed purchase.

did you even read the title? he said he doesn't have a 3ds, he does have a dsi. he is already confused thinking a dsi will play 3ds roms...

I did, I just didn't understand that OP was actually trying to play 3DS games on a DSi, lol. I was just trying to give OP some basic information about 3ds flashcarts, since he was trying to get .3ds roms working.

if he reads what you said next thing he will do is buying a gateway for use in his dsi xD thats why i get mad when you said it... no offense but some people work better with less information...

i mean, if he doesn't understand why he can't run 3ds games on a dsi, if he gets wondering about gateway it will be a lot worse..

Nah, I understand everything that you guys just told me. I'll just go buy a 3DS when I get the money. Besides, my DSiXL screen is cracked and I need to move on to the next generation of games anyway.
