It seems on the R4i SDHC Website the "firmware" download is a PS3 Jailbreak tool (insane mistake?). I've found the location on their server of the actual dongle software updater tool :

i think as long as you show that you can speak english and are willing to upload saves, thats all they really need for you to be selected.
considering the terrible english on their website, the one selecting people probably doesnt have the highest standards either

Probably because they can tell when you guys will either write a horrid review, don't write for a site, or your review will be useless. You're just in it because it's free and you can say "yeah, I like it" and pass it as a review.

Actually, the NDS Adaptor plus (hkems) can backup and restore (but not decrypt) 3DS saved games. The original one can't but the plus version (the one with pokemon heartgold/soulsilver support) can because it has upgradable firmware.

Are you sure? I haven't been to their website lately, but the product description on ConsoleSource.com (where I got mine) says it does not work with 3DS games.

Yes. I used it to back up an early (just started) Zelda OOT save and then flashed an empty (all 0xff) save file and it worked just fine. Note that only the PLUS version can handle 3DS games because it can handle firmware updates while the regular one (the one without heartgold/soulsilver support) does not.

The list has just been updated, and it's gotten huge! I think they're gonna add in the tracking numbers next.
