Hacking R4i Save Dongle

Chances are, if the 3DS gets hacked, we'll have access to the SD card.
From here, we could install homebrew onto the 3DS, which would serve to copy the save data from slot-1 to the SD card.

But the device would allow us to restore the save data BACK to the original retail cart.

It would make no sense for someone to make a homebrew capable of backing up save files, but not restoring.

Actually, the NDS Adaptor plus (hkems) can backup and restore (but not decrypt) 3DS saved games. The original one can't but the plus version (the one with pokemon heartgold/soulsilver support) can because it has upgradable firmware. Just update the firmware and PC software to at least 3.0 (3.02 is required for Jam with the band DX and 3.03 is required for Sengoku Musou Chronicle).

Are you sure? I haven't been to their website lately, but the product description on ConsoleSource.com (where I got mine) says it does not work with 3DS games.

That's weird. How long ago did you submit your email? I wonder if they're looking for specific criteria, like people who mention they have both systems, or elaborate on their answers, etc?

Dear all, since R4i-SDHC team release of free 300 savedonge news last week, it cause quite big echo, we've received numerous emails concerning the application of this campaign so far, the number of applicants who was approved is far more than an expected 300 and the number of applicants is on the rise. Probably because they can tell when you guys will either write a horrid review, don't write for a site, or your review will be useless. You're just in it because it's free and you can say "yeah, I like it" and pass it as a review.

I'm pretty sure the list is for the ones that have already shipped. You'll notice they all have tracking numbers. They're probably shipping in batches. Our names will probably show up on the list once our item has been sent.

Nah, it has nothing to do with location. Did you see the list? They're from everywhere. Besides, they're not even sticking to the "first 300" thing. They got way over 300 responses and have decided to add another 200.

I was just reading the forum on the Dongle's own website and the admins said they're sending them in batches and our names will appear on the list when they've been shipped. As of Mon, Dec 5, batch 1 & 2 have been sent. They said the 3rd batch will be shipped soon, followed by the 4th, and so on, until all 500 are shipped.

So if you've received a confirmation requesting your mailing info, that means you've been chosen. And when your name appears on the list, it means it's been shipped.
