Hacking R4i Gold Question

I apologize for the inevitable annoyance of this newbie question, but the whole mass of available options is quite confusing.

Will the R4i 1.4.1 Gold work with a DSi on System Menu 1.4.2 with a simple software update on the card?
Also, where would be a good place to buy the R4i Gold from?

If you have a r4i gold V1.4.1, you can download V1.42 patch from www.r4ids.cn.
If you want to buy a new r4i gold, all r4i gold cards have been pre-flashed to support V1.4.2 & 3DS.
