I just 100%'d the main game (minus skill points). All Gold Bolts, Zoni, RYNO V got, finished the arena, etc. Beat Vorcelon.
I go to visit the Insomniac Museum. In there, I go to Extras to show my kid the skins, and I see the option to start Challenge Mode. So at this point the game knows I beat it.
Things got weird when I went to leave the museum. It put me in space, flying the ship. Upgrades work. But I noticed something odd, so checked the ship menu. It acted like I had 0 Zoni, not 40. Showed upgrades locked (I was still firing the fully upgraded laser though). I also noticed on the mini-map that a couple ships had popped back up for side-quests and the supply depot was also green again. Landed there, it let me talk to the Vullard there to start his sidequest. Did the dialogue, let me accept. The quest did NOT start back up though.
I thought this was weird, but I figure it's time to start Challenge Mode. Go to Extras. The option is missing.
That's fine, I'll just rebeat the final boss. I open the map to fast travel, and it's super-zoomed in. I can't go outside of the final sector, it won't go that far. The only place I can warp to is the museum.
I also notice that the "Defeat Lord Vorcelon" and "Return the RYNO V Holo Plan to the Smuggler" missions are back on the main menu as if I had never finished them. Out of other options, I figured I'd land on a planet to see if anything changes.
Nearest planet is Morkian (the one where you change the past for the Fongoids). And as soon as I go to land, it replays the cutscene at Nefarious Space Station that leads to this planet.
Ok, I think, I guess we're just playing the game back. This isn't to far from the end and I have maxed out weapons. Won't be to bad. But now my PS3 is freezing after I spend any amount of time on that planet. I can't leave because plot reasons (no ship). I can't start Challenge Mode. I can't finish the planet. Whole PS3 freezes, no controller input, can't quit game. Have to power off.
I think some flags got reset somehow and the game doesn't know how to handle the logic. I both have and have not beaten this mission. Flags are true that shouldn't be, or false that shouldn't be.
So I'm wondering if there is any form of cheat in Apollo or some save editor to force-unlock the option for Challenge Mode. Idea is that Challenge Mode will reset all the story and mission flags and let me keep going for that trophy.
I really do not want to replay the game from absolute scratch again. Not after I just did it.
