I have a flashcard that only works with the native firmware and an even older firmware, thankfully I also have both a R4 and something that works with YSmenu.

Basically when in doubt don't use DSi flashcards, go for a R4 clone since those are compatible with Wood.

Nowadays I mostly try running stuff on Twilight menu on my 3DS with that ds game loader thing. But there is stuff that only works on flashcards like that fan made Lemmings port.

I have a R4 SDHC 2021 (from r4isdhc.com) and want to know if there's any working Wood R4 version instead of YSmenu?

Wood only works with R4, R4 clones and a specific DSi card.

Well, unfortunately it is out of stock with that unreal price tag. Actually Bl2ck worked on my r4 sdhc but games stuck on "loading". Maybe @lifehackerhansol can say something about that issue?

Twilight menu(++) can also replace ysmenu and wood on your flashcard now... and will work with lemmings port that way...
only thing it can't help is tyhe firmware of your flashcard (so it will not help if your flashcard doesn't work on certain (2/3)DS(i) firmware.
it will help improve game and homebrew compitability.

means you've got either a timebomb (fixed by setting the time of your ds a few years back) or a mismatch in kernel for your flashcard.
please give a picture of as much of the flashcard as you can, for there are so many R4 clones, and they're not cross compitable when it comes to kernel and firmware...
we need a positive identification to your precise model.

Forgot to mention, I am using RetroGameFan's custom YSmenu and load the .NDS directly from there. Don't know if it changes anything.

what loading screen takes forever? for can you select your roms? but some keep loading forever?
if you can get to selecting a rom it's retrogamefans ysmenu not covering the DRM of said game.
if you can's select the game it's something else.
i do suggest to boot directly to twilight menu ++ (ask RocketRobz for help with getting it done if you can't find the rightr instructions, you will not need ysmenu or wood, this is a kernel replacement which will allow more games to work for less capacity is used for the menu.

The Bl2ck firmware takes forever to load. I tried Twilightmenu++ but I get a white screen (using a 2GB FAT16 formatted microSD). Seems like a microSD issue to me though

Really? So far I have been only able to make it work on a fat DS because the fanmade port needs to load extra stuff from a folder on the flashcard. This is not the same as the official DS Lemmings game by the way.

Worked on at least 5 R4 clones and a DSi depending on the R4 clone is the firmware compatibility.
worked fine on my 3DS latest fw with my http://www.r4isdhc.com/ R4i dual-core (The White) the year can be ignored for the later firmwares and kernels work on the old models.Can be installed directly to CFW, but since then the wrong slot is used some games will fail, so installing twilight menu on an R4 clone works slightly better.

You need a FAT32 32kb cluster formatted card for the 3ds to read the card. other formats wont work

I wish WOODR4 would just be ported to work on ALL R4 clone cards, like how YSMenu does. I just hate the awful menu layout and how featureless YSMenu is.

I suppose your only way of finding one is on eBay. It'll take a while for one to appear.

The only way of knowing is to test it on the clone.

Mine is a very common cart, the R4i 3DS Gold (RTS). It's the version that came out right before the Plus did.

Only 1 diff, there's a physical Switch on the card that lets you switch between the installed firmware and NTRBOOT. Otherwise they're exactly the same

I've looked at pictures of it, and it seems like you have to take it apart to get to the internal switch.
