Hacking R4i SDHC Christmas Edition - Kernel Problem

Hi everyone. Forgive me if this problem has been discussed but I couldn't find anything online even with extensive research.

I have an R4i Limited SDHC Christmas Edition (I attach photos) and I managed to make it work with the R4iEnglishV1.17B firmware downloaded from the website via waybackmachine set to 2013.

Through this firmware I was unable to launch recent games such as Pokemon Black.

Consequently I added a TTMenu that I found online (TTMenu 6.81 by acquetto). The latter manages to launch games like Pokemon Black but up to the main menu. As soon as the game is started it freezes with a black screen.

Could any of you help me install a more updated kernel for this R4 or a TWiLight Menu++? I attach photos of the R4 card, the TTmenu, the Root of the SD card.

    Yea I prefer Verbatim media also myself. I have not burned anything in years tho. Still have bunch dual layer DVDs prob never use, and CD's. USB Thumb drives and NAS drive all I use anymore.

    I do have a huge pile of some hentai games from back and mix cd's from back in the day though

    @BigOnYa, External CD/DVD burners are alright, but they're not the best in regards to burning DVDs. You end up with errors, regardless if using cheap or good quality media.
