Hacking r4 castlevania por problem need help

I formatted it to with X: /FS:FAT /A:64K in command prompt. I used my converted save. it is still freezing. gonna try new save made with r4.

I tried it with the new save made using r4 and it still freezes when pressing start. I tried converting it to Format X: /FS:FAT32 /A:4K but it shows the error "invalid parameter A:4K".

Kingston 1G is very different from Kingston 512MB.

Playing Castlevania POR, Kingston 1G is a good choice, not Kingston 512MB. For example, Acekard was not working on Kingston 512MB until releasing recent OS.

You should buy Kingston 1G, surely made in japan, not made in Tawan. Between two of them, there are many difference, too.

I just saw that my 1GB Kingston microSD was made in Taiwan...hoping that won't be a problem.

Kingston 1G made in Japan is PNY OEM. But Kingston 1G made in Taiwan is an other manufacturer by my test and observation. Search the web and you will find it is true.

Acekard isn't good on Kingston 1G made in Taiwan playing castlevannia POR. It freezes many times different from Kingston 1G made in Japan.

my 1G Kingston (japan) looks virtually identical to my 1G Toshiba. So probably made by toshiba

I have an apacer 512MB and a 1G Sandisk.

they were all detected to be able to run at x4 (x30 speed) on the Supercard DS. I have never formatted them. SO I assume that they are in FAT16 format

Yes, Toshiba 1G and Kingston 1G are same because both of them are PNY OEM. Only made in Japan product!!!

I just got back from circuit city and bought a 512mb sandisk micro sd (made in taiwan). I tested it and it freezes when I go to a warp room. Anyone know why this is happening? On the rsds site, it says that a 512mb sandisk microsd is one of the recommended cards.

If you have tried a new clean rom file as suggested (which should be 99% chance of being the problem) and you still get the freezing problem... by the stuff you have said, same error with another card, using latest firmware, nontimmed rom etc.. then it's 100% a faulty R4 unit, which means any game should cause freezing as PoR.. or.. you're lying for whatever that might be.. simple as that ;P

You're 100% positive your R4 isnt actually a Supercard right?

yes i used a clean rom. ripped by xenophobia, xpa, and legacy. I get the same error with the sandisk 512mb microsd. I used the 1.04 firmware with a nontrimmed rom. I ordered from winsunx. do you know if they will refund the $20 i paid for shipping? are you sure my r4 is faulty?

I ordered from winsunx too.. I don't think they would pay for the shipping costs as it would end them going with a loss lol... anways.. could you try a few random roms and see if they freeze too? and are you positive it's not an sc one card? or you working for the sc team?

I am 100% positive that it is not a supercard ds card as i purchased from winsunx. I am not working for the sc team. I tried final fantasy 3, yoshi's island 2, and dragon quest rocket slime. they don't freeze like the castlevania por rom.

Well there you go.. one thing cannot work while the other does. Both ways would be impossible. You either have a faulty unit and all games freezes.. or all your PoR copies are still prepatched (nonclean) and causing the freezing. You can't have one without the other in this situation im afraid.

tell me if these roms are prepatched or not: xpa-cvpor.nds, 0736 - Castlevania - Portrait of Ruin (U)(Xenophobia).nds. killermech, which version of the rom did you use?
