Some nice retro news for the forums. Clear River Games and Limited Run Games will be releasing a modern port of the Quintet SNES action RPG Terranigma.

The following platforms have been confirmed: PC (Steam/GOG), PS4/PS5, Switch 1/2, and Xbox Series X/S.

To be honest, the Steam page and trailer are filled with flavor text and zero information. ("Relive the classic," "a gem from the 90's has returned," etc. That kind of stuff.)

We know it'll release in 2027, but any features for this version have not been confirmed. (I'm expecting a barebones port or quick emulation job.) Either way, I'm thrilled this is getting a legal re-release. (Only Japan and PAL region releases, back in the day. No US version.)

Anyone excited for this modern re-release?

The game looks exactly the same as it did on the SNES; the only difference is that you can play it on PC or Switch, what a pitiful improvement.

Terranigma is an absolute gem; it definitely deserves more than just being pulled out of a drawer and placed on the dusty table... why not Remake, remade or HD everything else with (Re) would be better than a lazy Digital-port...
They're trying to sell us an old chestnut in new packaging... and it'll probably work, but definitely not on me—I'm sticking with the original.

they call that a modern port?! they want you to pay for a fucking rom they are as bad as the e-shop! i'll stick with emulation thnx
