I followed Truth's guide and have the cios' installed, and HBC. I have gotten really confused on all the guides out there when it comes to VC/WiiWare in vWii.

Do I need IOS-236?
Do I need to patch system menu?

For example can I install a VC game without 236 and without system menu patched?

My preferred method would be using YAWMM to install the .wad.

As far as nand goes I have a backed up nand from the suggestions in Truth's gude. Can Usbloader or Wiiflow use this or do those programs have to back up the nands through their own methods to make an emunand? and can they install wads as well?

Thank you in advance for your help. Always appreciated.

I'm not familiar with the topic but I would be interested in it as well. I searched around myself and couldn't find any solid tutorials and most articles are about the original wii and cannot necessarily be applied to the vWii. However, I think the bottom line appears to be that loading virtual console games through USB loaders needs emulation, dumping and editing of emunand and is somewhat compatible with most available games.

Also, I couldn't find "Truth's guide". I guess linking to this guide would be a good start. :)

Oh lol, I thought OP was referring to a guide about loading VC/WiiWare games from USB. I was of course familiar with the above guide for cIOS. :)

Oh ok. Yeah I thought it was kinda strange for you to be interested in loading VC from USB without even knowing how to softmod your vWii
Hopefully the OP gets a response as I'm interested in loading them from USB as well (already messed up my external by trying to load them from emunand)

*Update so far

Used Usbloadergx went under settings, then to features and dumped the full nand for emu nand. double checked the paths. used 4th icon at the top of Usbloadergx on the mainscreen and made sure to show emunand. Also installed wads with usbloadergx.

- Did not install IOS 236 in vwii
- Did not patch system menu in vwii

Although the installed wiiware and vc wads show when I go to play them it goes to a blackscreen and reboots to hbc menu. Going to try a different SD card and see if it was having size/speed issues
