Gaming PSP 1000 repair

hey gbatemp community, Im new to this fourm. My name is Alex and im from Springfield Massachusetts USA.

So my brother has a PSP 1000 not hacked/modifed. It does not power on, and he wont tell me if its water damage either. I bought a new charger and plugged it in, the yellow light indicator lights up and has a small humming buzz sound to it.

Any ideas, hints, fourm threads, videos? That I should look at?

how does the power switch feel? i had mine break, had to replace the sisterboard which holds the switch, like 3$ worth in parts if u do it yourself. if it has been opened he could have put it back together poorly/forgot to plug all of it up or damage parts.

if the power switch worked properly, it would at least light the green/red light up to indicate life, if it doesn't it is likely the power switch nipple thing on sister board.
