Hi all,

I have a PlayStation 5 on my bench where you can play games normally for some time. After 10-15 Minuten the console shuts down immidiately.
Without FAN it crashes a bit faster, I was switching from game to menu and back for many times.

After clearing the errlog and crashing I have the following codes:

When I observe the board with a thermal cam all RAMs are having nearly the same temperature.
No chance for me to find the issue cause the console is running normal until it shuts down.

I have cleaned it very well + new liquid metal.

Hopefully anyone has an idea.

Thanks and lot and best regards
Andi

Hi Andi :)

i have on my bench one with the same problems..

Game - Idle mode work fine
start game ends after 5-10 min. with a error (reinstall game)

Safe mode rebuild data & restore ends with error (board turn off round about 80-90% - message that dont remove power cable)

nothing suspect on the board

My feeling is a bad RAM or APU. But I‘m not sure if it is worth the time to swap all RAM modules based on feelings

Yes, i think the problem can be the RAM to..
i will try first of all to change the SSD Controller IC and after that to reball the Ram´s ^^

The error code 80060021 refers to the APU VRM power 6 phases.
My guess is that one of the 6 phases is not working propperly.
Maybe you are lucky and find a no responding power stage ic (SiC655A/AOZ5612BQ). I would compare the readings of the surounding components of the six from the eight power stage ics.

Thanks a lot. Are those stages on the RAM or APU side? 3 of em are getting hot on the thermal cam.

I was also thinking on that, like voltage is not stable and then a shutdown occurs.

So you think about reading diode measurements around the mosfets?

Thanks a lot! You are very helpful!

Update from today:

- I removed the thermal putty and made diode readings of all regulators
- number three counted from bottom had one reading which differs from the others
- I removed the regulator and still reading was bad
- On the other side of the mainboard was a capacitor which value was bad. I swapped it with a one from a donor
- then I re soldered the regulator again

Now everything works like a charm!!!!

Big big thanks to @stetofix !! You are a really awesome guy!

Mine has this same problem of the check fuses but I'm guessing this is a bad APU my RAM chips get same temps too
