I recently got a PS5 on 4.50 so it's jailbreakable. I also have a PS4 Pro on 11.0 that I also jailbreak.

On the PS4 Pro applying 60 FPS patches is very easy through the PS4 Cheats Manager.
But on the PS5 you need to run libhijacker or EtaHEN and edit config.ini to use 60 fps patches for a limited support of games. but it's missing some games like Hogwarts Legacy, Lies of P, Elden Ring, Final Fantasy VII Remake to name a few.

I tried changing values in the ebot.bin files for specific games from the patches list from PS4 Cheats Manager here and then make my own fpkg updates. The 60fps eboot.bin file I made for Final Fantasy VII Remake seemingly worked and booted ok. But when I tried doing it for Lies of P every time the game just crashes at the start and sometimes crash the console. Can anyone help me to understand how I edit the values manually in the games eboot.bin files so I can use the 60fps patches on my PS5? As I rather only use one console.

The problem is that the author switched from Type="byte" to Type="mask". So you can't really edit the eboot.bin anymore and add in the hex values manually into the addresses.

I noticed that too. The games that use the Type="byte" were quite easy to do but the Type="mask" did not work like Lies of P.

Games like FF7 Remake and Horizon Zero Dawn etc are "easy" because of that. But games like Hogwarts Legacy and Lies of P are really bothersome. I do hope he updates the offsets for libhijacker some day.
Would be more convenient if we could run other games like FF7 Remake Intergrade on PS5 though.

I have a friend (j) that makes 60fps patches, so that we don't need to rely on goldhen cheat manger. But after the change to masks and mask_jump32, it complicated things. He even tried FTP extracting the eboots in real time to see if the values were already written on it. Anyhow, I don't think you need it for Lies of P. Isn't there already like a framerate mode on PS4 Pro/PS5?

Yes I tried looking for pre-patched fpkgs or patched eboot.bin files for specific games and while there are patches for some older titles those usually came pre-patched with lower resolution as well. But it would be neat not having to rely on an external manager for 60FPS.

Lies of P on PS4 Pro and backcompat mode on PS5 should run in 50FPS I believe it's capped at yes and for the time being that will have to suffice for me. Other games like God of War had more complicated strings too I saw sadly and it's not included with libhijacker.

50fps? Not sure why it wouldn't be at 60fps. The PS5 is more than capable of it since Lies of P is a PS4 game. Anyways, there might be a reason why the author didn't add the rest of the games on there. I'm still waiting to play Sonic Frontiers and Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse at 60fps on my PS5, since I know for a fact that there is no performance/framerate mode support for those two specific games.

Lies of P had some weird FPS caps. 40 for phat/slim PS4 and 50 for PS4 Pro, tons of videos on YouTube show it too. I think the process of adding them is the same, PS5 libhijacker even has some additional patches like Bloodborne and Doom 2016 120FPS and Demons Souls 120 FPS too. I opened an "issue" on the github but no answer.

Yeah.....better if I tell you not to expect much. The author, illusion0001, has very clear communication issues. I've tried submitting new issues on the github plenty of times, even with video evidence. But most of time, my issues gets ignored(no response) or closed with no solution. There were some rare times I did get a reply, but it was very vague and not helpful. So, good luck.

That's a bummer. Guess we just have to wait until the PS5 scenes mature more hopefully. I am thinking of getting a PS5 Pro day 1 and just keeping it offline until jailbreak hopefully catches up to those later firmwares as well. That should give me a bigger list of games to play even though I have to buy some.

Might have some good news. I hear that LightningMods is implementing plugins into etaHEN on PS5.

Damn, you're lucky. I must have asked 20-30 sellers about the firmware and most replied, but sadly they had updated which killed the deal for me.

If you have kids don't let them near it or he/she might update it. 😅

Really? If so that is very great news to hear indeed. Where did you hear this?
It was on Twitter. No wait, it was on X.

I feel you on the frustration! I’ve been messing around with 60 FPS patches for my PS5 too, and it can be a bit of a headache compared to the PS4 Pro, where it's pretty straightforward with the PS4 Cheats Manager. For the PS5, I’ve found that running libhijacker or EtaHEN and editing the config.ini can be a bit hit or miss. It’s great for some games but, like you said, a lot of the newer titles like Hogwarts Legacy and Lies of P are missing or don’t work properly.I tried tweaking the eboot.bin files too. For Final Fantasy VII Remake, it seemed to work okay, but I had the same issue as you with Lies of P—the game crashes or even takes down the console sometimes. From what I’ve gathered, it might be that the changes you're making aren't aligning perfectly with the game's requirements or there's a mismatch in how the patches are applied. If you’re diving into manual edits, make sure to back up your original files first.

The new etaHEN 1.8b is out. Did you get the chance to test everything out?
Yeah I tested it out a bit and it works as expected. I am glad we can finally enjoy the various 60 FPS patches. Cheats/Patches manager would have been more prefered though but it works.

Now the only few things missing for me really is PS4 DLC package support but for now I did use the https://github.com/idlesauce/ps4-eboot-dlc-patcher to manually patch every game that uses DLCs as described in the video here:
it's tedious but it makes the DLCs working at least. Also I rather enjoyed using RetroArch on my PS4 Pro as it was an easy way to play retro games in my living room, sadly RetroArch does not work on PS5, I suppose it has something to do with the filesystem similar to how the PS4 DLC on PS5 works. But I already "benched" my PS4 Pro for now thanks to the latest etaHEN 1.8b. Now for games I cannot play like FF7 Rebirth I am debating wheter to get a PS5 Pro or hope that PS6 once it releases is backwards compatible as well with PS4/PS5.

So I spent some more time with Itemflowz Game Manager and the patches today. When you patch the DLCs for the game you have to be really careful as it can break the compatibility with the patches and Itemflowz Game Manager will say you have wrong version installed of said game. Also the UI is sadly horrendous as I have well over 350 different games installed and you cannot change layout or anything to having to slide through every game is painful, as of now I just favorited the games that I want to use patches on and only load Itemflowz when I really want to run a patched game.

Also turns out that mask type patches are not supported yet so games like Hogwarts Legacy cannot be patched for 60 FPS yet and the window for the patches/trainers are just blanked grey. First I thought I did some error on my part but turns out that it's just not supported yet..

Can someone explain what "mask" means please. When I check sonic frontiers to see which game version is required it says mask. But no game version

I have 60fps activated for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, but it still feels and looks 30fps. What's missing?

30fps is starting to feel a bit too slow for me, especially Uncharted 4 where Nathan would be faster hopping around than walking.

Can't you just open up the .xml file and delete the code portion of the updates that you don't want, which will force the patch to play your version?

Just delete the highlight text, for example I delete 1.14 for 1.15:

In regards to the masks, that pretty much means that you weren't able to play Lies of P at 60fps.
Darn. How did you find out itemzflow doesn't support masks formats?

Do you see these files? Those are xml files. They are text files with written codes that makes the 60fps patches work.

Now lets open up the .xml for Sonic Frontier. Do you see the parts I've marked in red? That's how you know it's a "mask" format. And therefore, won't work because it currently doesn't support it.

You might need to readjust the patch and delete some of the codes you don't need since I see codes for base PS4, PS4 Pro, resolutions settings, etc.
