Can't you just open up the .xml file and delete the code portion of the updates that you don't want, which will force the patch to play your version?

Just delete the highlight text, for example I delete 1.14 for 1.15:

In regards to the masks, that pretty much means that you weren't able to play Lies of P at 60fps.
Darn. How did you find out itemzflow doesn't support masks formats?

Do you see these files? Those are xml files. They are text files with written codes that makes the 60fps patches work.

Now lets open up the .xml for Sonic Frontier. Do you see the parts I've marked in red? That's how you know it's a "mask" format. And therefore, won't work because it currently doesn't support it.

You might need to readjust the patch and delete some of the codes you don't need since I see codes for base PS4, PS4 Pro, resolutions settings, etc.

Thanks for your help :)

I’ve tinkered some yesterday and I found some old posts by illusion about specific games like Final Fantasy VII Remake and I made a manual patch for the game where I used all optional patches for graphics, unlocked 60 fps, increases memory, and disabled dynamic resolution and locked it to 2160P and the game now looks better than FF7 Remake Intergrade even.
I had to extract certain pak files that are used for unreal engine games and edit the .ini files and then pack them again.

Hogwarts legacy and lies of P are unreal games as well so I will do similar patches for those games now. Other problematic games I manually edited the eboot files and hardcoded them for 60fps that way already. I also noticed that once you enable patches/trainers in itemflowz you do not need to boot into it every time as you can boot them from XMB and you will see that it says patch applied so it remembers that at least. But I prefer are more permanent way now lol.

Nice, let me know if you're able to get Lies of P and Hogwarts Legacy patched as well.

I can say I had success!

With Lies of P I extracted the 1.05 update and edited the pakchunk0-ps4.pak file in HxD and it had lots of settings to change, same like PC I believe. So I upped both the 40 and 50 framerate to 60 and I upped the resolution to 2160 but let the dynamic resolution switching be intact as Digital Foundry reported that both PS5 and Xbox Series X had dynamic resolution in 60 fps mode. You really could feel and see the difference because the PS4 version is usually capped out at 1080 also. I also baked in the DLC items while I were at it.

Regarding Hogwarts Legacy for PS4 Pro it already has an uncapped frame rate option I saw lol so no change was needed. Just go to options and select uncapped frame rate, so the unlocked fps option is mostly for base ps4 who want 60 fps if you change resolution. But I saw similar options in Hogwarts Legacy pakchunk0-ps4.pak as well but I let it be for now.

Other games like God of War 2018 and God of War Ragnarök PS4 versions should have 60fps options on PS5 already I heard also.

But being able to change frame rate of unreal engine games is very nice.

That great news. Does Lies of P work without any frame drops at 60fps wit 2160 dynamic resolution?

I have a friend who's currently trying to convert mask back to the original. He's having half success being able to convert regular masks, but is having trouble with "mask_jump32" though.

Sorry for intruding in your discussion: I would like to create 60 fps patches for Elden Ring and Resident Evil 2/3/4 Remake, is there a guide for noobs to create patches that you can suggest ?

I did not notice any major frame drops in Lies of P but then again there is no frame counter but it feels more smooth than the previously locked 40 and 50 FPS at least.

No need to be sorry. There is no need to make a patch for Elden Ring because the PS4 version on PS4 Pro and PS5 already runs at locked 60 FPS, the 60 FPS unlock for Elden Ring is for Base/Phat and Slim PS4.

And Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 Remake already runs at 60 FPS I believe so there is no need for patches for those games. There are however patches to go down to 720P in resolution to get more FPS on Base/Phat and Slim PS4 consoles.

Also I tinkered more with my PS5 over the week and I was trying some PS5 dumps. I found out that PS5 dumps are more of a proof of concept than anything you want to play with as its highly unstable and some games only work on certain drives on the PS5 so I went back to the PS4 versions of the PS5 dumps I tried. Games like Ghost of Tsushima the PS4 version do run at 60FPS on PS5 already anyways no need to do any patching. Basically a jailbroken PS5 currently is just a slightly more powerful PS4 Pro with the ability to play some PS5 games available for firmware 4.51 or below. Combine that with the very annoyingly process of jailbreaking your PS5 from cold boot which is about 20-25% chance of success or kernel panic which means you have to reboot your console and do the process from the start again. I only turn off my console as I am afraid of what rest mode can do to the console because I heard some PS4 with goldhen when they used rest mode it never booted up again.

Some people sent me messages asking how I made certain edits for games.

I "documented" rather extensively what I did to mod/patch most games. FF7 Remake for PS4 I edited the pak file directly instead of doing hexedits. Lies of P I changed some value in HxD that I stated as well here in this thread. Regarding Red Dead Redemption 2 I never had to mod that game as I was on 4.50 and there was a mod working there already for PS5 with that version. Hogwarts Legacy I never had to mod because there is 60fps option for the PS4 game running on PS5.

About the PS5 console itself I sold it a few weeks ago with the reasoning that there really is no exclusive games anymore besides Demons Souls and Ghost of Yotei and the latter I am sure will get a PC port soon. Bloodborne works fairly well in ShadPS4 on PC now. And instead of having to spend hours to mod games for 60 FPS I just decided to upgrade my computer instead and be done with it. While the PS4 and PS5 scene is "moving" now the issues regarding the PS5 jailbreak and the process of installing games is very time consuming It's a headache I do not want.

Personally, I like to toggle my 60fps patches on my PS5, which is why I decided to convert the codes to .xml files, instead of hard patching/modding the updates. Converting Type="mask_jump32" and Type="mask" were the most challenging.

In case anyone is interested in modding the pakchunk0, search for a thread called, Final Fantasy VII Remake 720p 60FPS Patch and PS4 FPKG Mod. It's on a site that I can't mention here, and yes I was also in that same thread, asking noobish questions at the time.
