There are only two groups that would.I pity the suckers who believe this for even a second.
1. The most desperate people of the US who are a paycheck away from being on the streets. They'll roll the dice for any chance to get $5,000, even if they're pretty sure it's fake.
2. The most die-hard of the MAGA cult. If the money isn't given to them, then they'll just blame congress for not appropriating the $1.3 trillion necessary for such an inflationary thing.
I think there may be some people suffering from post-cult shame. People feel embarrassed that they were suckered, ashamed that they believed obvious lies (Even when people told them over and over they were lying), and they don't want to be reminded of the repercussions of their support. Talking about it can make them angry at themselves, so people avoid the subject entirely because it's emotionally difficult. They may have a lot to say, but repression is just easier. It’s actually kind of frustrating because I wish they would have an honest conversation about this stuff. I am not even her to shit on Trump, I just want to understand why and how they can still support someone like this? Party lines aside, Trump is openly doing corrupt shit, how has he not crossed a line for them? I want to hear from them directly
Honestly, I'm not even sure if I'd be able to have a calm conversation about the topic with them at this point. People have fallen for the schtick THREE TIMES!!! Now it seems the third time was the charm, and the entire world is in upheaval due to this administration. All countries holding US debt are selling as fast as they can, bonds area rising like crazy, BRICS is closer to throwing the US off as the global currency, and they're 40 trillion in the hole with nothing to show for it. Shit is getting bad.
