Good morning!!!!!!!

So a friend of mines recently came back from Columbia with a cheap ps4 he purchased over there. He already knew the ps4 was having issues which is there is no video on the tv.

My question is, does anybody think it might be a faulty HDMI port?

It turns on fine, the blue light comes on following the white light and it remains steady. We have both tried on multiple Tvs as well as using different HDMI cables and I honestly think its just a faulty HDMI port.

If it turns out to be true he does plan on buying a replacement HDMI port so we can see if that works with the video.

Im just curious if anybody can confirm this is will solve the problem? Has anybody gone threw the similar issue and found out it was the HDMI port?

Thanks for help and Happy Holidays

if the port doesn't look physically damaged (you can see all 19 pins on both sides of the center piece) - then it has Video Encoder IC failure, so replacing the port won't do anything, only replace it if you can see bent pins inside the port

I think there should be a way to access the recovery mode, it should reset the video option to a default setting, maybe it can fix the issue? Unless is something else then maybe i dunno.

What model PS4 is it? Keep in mind there are 3 for the older models 1000, 1100 and 1200, the 1000 launch model and 1100 having this issue are common.
