Formatting is the only solution I'v seen throughout these 58 pages for the 70% corruption error.

Freshly formatted and still the issue persists.

Yep.
You can even go online rather safely if you take some precautions.

is the CFW disconnecting from PSN at console's boot?

I saw you provided a guide (few time) saying to launch the needed apps and then connect to PSN.
But you didn't tell to never connect to PSN while in CFW before doing the patching steps.

I guess the CFW is preventing it?
Is it completely blocked until you patch it, or can you connect by mistake without the patches?
are they both doing it (rebug and ferrox)?

Ferrox does not disable PSN which is arguably the only "downside" (but better for those of us who think ahead). So yeah, you can connect by "mistake".
I think it disables auto login though. Can't confirm it but none of my consoles logged in automatically even though I know i had at least one of them set to auto login before hacking.
On Rebug, I think SEN Enabler needs to be used first.

Hi all it's me again, I tried to install Final Fantasy VII PKG it stays for a while in Please Wait screen and when the message is done it will send me back to the XMB menu, but the game won't show up on my XMB menu.

Well, I meant more like not letting it connect online at all so I luckily don't have to deal with either rebug/ferrox connecting by mistake I assume. I'm setting it all up soon, just gotta restore this phat. Can't wait to play Michigan Report from Hell and such again!

The guide itself tells you to do that. Follow it to the last step, then you will be on 4.81 Debug.
