Emulation PS emulator found on WiiUBru not working

So I downloaded a PlayStation emulator from WiiUBru which can be downloaded here

I've tried everything I can think of for it to work. I downloaded the BIOS, then the core from retroarch, then the wiiu.a file with the same name. I've placed them all in SD\retroarch\cores and SD\retroarch\cores\system and still can't get the emulator to run. When I do try it it's just a black screen. I tried waiting for 5 minutes to make sure it wasn't just loading and after trying for 3 hours I just came here to see if any of you have solved this problem.

Well the beta Mednafen PSX core for RetroArch Wii did work, but it was really slow.
