I'm not sure if you should do something like that. Just end this bulls*** talk from the last pages and be friends again. If that's not possible someone should leave the team and be quiet forever in this thread.

As AceAttorney524 said, it takes upwards of an hour just to do one little section.
Out of curiousity, what does "little section" refer to exactly? Does it mean a single frame of dialogue, accounting for all the time collectively to translate, edit, implement, and QC the change in text, or does it refer to for example accounting for every single option a player could take during a single investigation or single page of cross-examination?

He means Scenes. They can consist of several text boxes. And he's only talking about editing. There's also translation and proof-reading and checking previous translations for mistakes. Then there's technical issues plaguing us...

Cheers, sirs. I may being strange by asking something like that since you didn't finish the fantranslation yet, but, I would like to apply to the project, or better, enter in the team to expand it... I know just a little of japanese and would like to translate this game to portuguese too (since it will be a regionfree game, I think we could do it with multiple languages), I only would need the translated script of the game (all dialogues), so I can work in the portuguese translation and you could "append it" to the english translation, just like in Ace Attorney Trilogy we have the option to play in english or in japanese.

Hello team!
As a huge fan of the Ace Attorney series, I just wanted to express my gratitude of what you guys are doing.
This thread seems to be slightly negative lately and it just made me sad that people are so ungrateful to this huge, and free might I add, effort that you guys are putting in.
I really thought I wouldn't be able to play this game because it is unlikely to be ported to America, you have no idea how happy this project made me feel.
Once again, I really appreciate what you guys are doing keep it up.

Thanks, JongSeok! It's always good to know someone is thankful for the work we put into this project.

I also want to say, like JongSeok, that what you guys are doing is amazing, and I am really grateful for all the work you are putting into it. I am looking forward to this even more than AA6 at the moment! I have even imported a copy of the game, so I will be ready when it comes out. Thank you everyone who is working on this for being so awesome!

Also, ignore everyone who is being rude about it. You are doing this voluntarily and there is no reason you should feel obligated to do anything more than a direct translation. Localisation should be included if, and only if, you decide you want to add it at a later date.

If you guys can manage to release a test or a release of case 1 by september/october you're gonna get right into that Ace Attorney hype due to SoJ coming out.

Is that unrealistic? ^^

If you mean fan-made, the answer is no

Edit: And I'm not aware of this having been a plan at any time...
Oh okay, haha.. I guess there were some people discussing about it in the previous thread.
Anyways, good luck again! :) You guys are doing a great thing!

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
