I boot my laptop up, 4 minutes after being in Windows XP, I get a blue screen.

It doesn't do it in Safe Mode.

Is there a way to list what the last program or driver that was loaded during startup is?

It's not my laptop so I don't know what the last programs installed were.

Thanks for any advice!

In safe mode, just disable your startup programs one by one until it doesn't blue screen. That would be how I do it.

It could be a bad driver that's causing the problem.

Take a look in the event log (goto Start, Run, then type in "eventvwr" . Should work in safe mode). Errors show up as red crosses, if you can find one double click it for a bit more information. In the case of an application error, it should tell you what program caused the fault.

Otherwise, there's a setting in XP to stop the blue screen flying past so fast, which waits for you to turn the PC off yourself instead of auto-restarting so you can actually read the message before it disappears.
