Homebrew [POLL] Do you want to see the 3ds homebrew scene evolve into something such as the appstore?

I know, but I'm on the one that was released waaay back when the 3DS homebrew scene became a thing.

Some developers do not like the pressure that accompanies the "pay to play" release model. The difference between buying an app and donating to a developer lies in the level of expectation held by the consumer of said app.

Obviously, the 3ds scene has evolved very much. However, some devs put A LOT of work into their apps (such as FBI, Decrypt9, etc.) They deserve some money. Obviously, there could still be freeware, but I personally would really like to see the 3ds scene, (and maybe the next Homebrew scene ) involve a pay-to-play user created game setup. So that users would be able to make money off of homebrew. And, lets be honest, making ports of games such as undertale, downwell, should be left to the developers to make money off. The users need to make their own

I'm pretty sure people would just start pirating homebrew apps if that was the case, considering the kind of community we have here.

Or they could put their homebrew games on the eShop. That makes more sense to me.

Yeah, isn't this what the guy that made that Colors game did? First it was a homebrew title, but then he followed the necessary protocols to get his game listed on the eshop? Seems most logical to me. You want to make money on a game you develop, take the extra steps to get it officially published so that it can make money.

Oh yeah it was Colors! I remember it was one homebrew app that made it to the eShop.
