After progressing a bit in the demo talking to certain NPC's will tell you to talk to them at a later date for example talk to the person near the Poke Center after a day and receive an item. There are also a few more. Maybe there are items transferable to the full game.

Tomorrow, 5 days and one with 18 (? not sure) and 28 days. All NPC's. One's a dude that will give you something, one's a girl that is meeting up with some guy but came 5 days early (really?!), one is a dude celebrating his Pikachu's birthday and I can't remember the other one.
