I've spent over 3 months trying to get a shiny rayquaza on my old GBA Sapphire and still haven't gotten it, that long for the day I do. Shiny hunting is satisfying you should try it, the payoff is glorious

now i am not saying i ever did that. but also not everyone has hours for 1 pokemon. and yes eevee is my fav, and i had one in XY and want to transfer it from XY to SM using pkhex

everyone to his own, i love shiny hunting , good luck getting your eevee regardless, but you should "try" out shiny hunting once, trust me you will be so much more proud everything you throw that eevee in to the field knowing you've found that white thing, instead of having cheated it, just a tip though

you can catch alola grimer + magnemites to the left of the trainer school, it's behind a gate on the top left side of the school
