In the 1.2 version, Shiftry's sprite seems broken?
Is it fixed? How can I fix it?

btw, I use DSTT. No cheats, untrimmed patch.

1.3 patching works fine.

including the requested EV training areas.

Sorry xvolution, i have changed some wild encounters, i believe you will have to compare 1.2 with 1.3 to see the exact changes.

thumbsup.jpg

Could you send a list of the locations you changed encounters in over PM? I'm nearly done with the 1.2 version of the guide (just like routes 212-230). Having to go over all 183 locations again would be a major pain.

^ I noticed only few changes in the locations, so I think it won't be a pain in the ass.

Well, I will support what you're doing now and I'm pleased with your efforts in making such guide.

Suggestion to Sir Wolfsclaw:
If the guide would be completed,
then can the pokemon locations guide be implemented in-game?
I mean, like, the National Dex being accurate with the areas, or by having a NPC saying where the wild pokemon locations are.

Is that possible somehow?

I surely won't create a NPC giving each location of 493 Pokemon.

I can't do anything about Shiftry's sprite and I have no idea why it is slightly corrupted, but i believe it's not a major issue as it is still looking good.

xvolution, comparing two files in two wpeds windows can't be that much of a pain. There are not so many changes, but i don't remember them all exactly.

I stated it once and I state it again (Wolfsclaw, I suggest quoting this in your original post, and possibly in your patch file)

DSTT users who encounter issues (corrupt/glitchy graphics, game not working, etc.) should do this:

1- First, patch the rom like normal. (I only tested it untrimmed. Don't worry, it'll trim it automatically later AND cheats will still work)

2- (Optional) You're now free to change the trainer music using another patch.

3- Then, grab the patched rom, and a clean rom. It gets a bit weird here..

4- Use an application like DSLazy (or anything else) that can unpack and pack roms.

5- Unpack the patched rom first (to make things simpler). Keep the two folders, delete all the other files outside. After that, you should rename the folder (That contained all those files) to "patched" or something, because the next step will also give it the same name, just to avoid overwriting or anything)

6- Unpack the clean rom. It'll unpack into a folder named NDS_UNPACK (in my case, at least, as a DSLAzy user) like before, but this time, keep it. I suggest keeping a copy of the unpacked clean rom, because you'll be doing this again for future patches. Just name the copy "clean" for now, and when the time comes, make a copy of that and name it "NDS_UNPACK". Or if you want things simpler, for future patches, keep the unpack clean rom, and when you unpack the patched rom into NDS_UNPACK, simply copy all the files - NOT THE FOLDERS - from the clean rom into the patched rom and pack it.

7-Now what you're gonna do is grab the 2 folders from the patched rom and put them in the clean rom (NDS_UNPACK for DSLazy users?). You ONLY need the folders changed; the other files should stay the same.

8- Now launch DSLazy again (or whatever you've been using) and there should be an option to pack a rom. Do it, and it'll look for DS_UNPACK (again, this is for DSLazy users. People who use something else might notice a difference) and pack the folder into the game.

9- Congrats! Things got complicated (not really, it only looks complicated, but you have to try it yourself), but now you can enjoy a TRIMMED game with WORKING CHEATS and hopefully NO GRAPHICAL ISSUES.

tl;dr: Patch UNTRIMMED normally, change music if you want to, grab a clean rom and the patched rom, unpack both using DSLazy or something else, copy the FOLDERS from the PATCHED rom and the FILES (bin and the other stuff) from the CLEAN rom and place them into a new folder, then use the same thing to pack that new folder into a new trimmed, working rom.

Again, Wolfsclaw, please quote this into your original (first) post so that DSTT users can see it.

^ Yes. Is the size 99 / 102 mb?
That's what I did Rashid (even before). Thanks.
Shiftry is still broken.

Sir Wolfsclaw is right. I didn't like Shiftry that much and it is not a big issue.

If Shiftry is still broken, then it's probably the game's fault, not your DSTT. I haven't tried it yet, but Shiftry's not that important anyway.

Oh well, I hope Wolfsclaw will look into this. Still, he should quote what I said into his first post so that new people who have those issues have a solution.

Edit: Is it just me, or does the untrimmed 1.3 patch... well, not work? It stays at 0KB for minutes. It never took this long.

Try the patch again. It works perfectly for me.

It's almost the same. Yours was very good and detailed.
I have a quicker way in that method you gave.

(EDITED)
In this method, you must have dsbuff. Google it. This is also for DSTT users.

1.) Have the 1.3 patched ROM and the clean ROM
(Use the untrimmed ones)

2.) Open dsbuff

3.) Unpack the 1.3 patched rom

4.) Wait for a window that will appear, and copy the "data" and "overlay" folders.
Then, paste them in your desktop. (for easier access)

5.) Now back to dsbuff, unpack the clean ROM
(You may want to close dsbuff first, then re-open)

6.) then wait again for the window that will appear. Now cut the "data" and "overlay" folders
from your desktop and paste it in the pop-up window (the window that appeared).

7.) then pack the rom using dsbuff.

The fully patched rom's size should be atleast 99 mb.

And oh Sir Wolfsclaw,
is there a program where I can change a pokemon's sprite? Thanks.

I tried it again a couple of times and the patch (finally) works!

Hm.. I didn't know DSBuff could skip some steps.

I ought to search for it now. Thanks, Mike.

Edit: Holy ****! So fast, so convenient, and so much more it can do! Thanks a lot, Mike mah boi.

Hi guys how you all doing?

Serious problems with patching my rom....I was wondering if you guys got any other tips? especially u Rashid, as you said you finally got yours to work, meaning it took you a while too.

I usually dont post askin for this kind of help, i spent an hour yesterday reading forums and readme's on patching then 2 hours trying to patch. My 1st attempt was with the untrimmed and when I do it i get a message from the command window first of all telling me that the checksum validation failed for both the clean NDS rom and the enhanced patch. However then i get the expected message that the enhanced patch has been created and to do a MD5 check which i do and i know it fails as it told me that already.

So i try to open it with my no$gba emu anyway and it tells me 3 errors have occured......

1:bad header checksum (real gameboy would shutdown)
2 bad ROM entrytype at header [000h]
3bad fixed Value 96h at header [0B2h]

Then the rom-image has crashed

then the message that if im a child or inexperiecnced user to basically to F off and dont bother asking for help but im 19 so i know i can figure this **** out.

Please some one help me, either here or over skype or msn would be a great help.

Oh and when i patch the trimmed version, it seems to work except i get a blank light blue screen!........odd ..........

Check if you have the right clean ROM by validating the md5 checksum (read the readme.txt)

And please guys... use some grammar. Text is not exactly how you speak. Use what you've learned in school...

Oh my god.... i had checked so deep and went into so much detail cross checking all patches when the 1 thing i forgot to do was check the clean rom.....such an idiot.

Thanks wolf..... the MD5 showed 8E93EB7F074C4DF218DB2968B1748329 on my rom whereas its supposed to be F8905424F7D8AEA299C51EC7580B33D8.......

so what now? im a member of a rom site but that one obviously doesnt work so should i look for another rom site or just re-download? im not sure if these figures stay the same or not as im new to the patching scene...

Thanks for your help so far.

ah yes.....you see the site i got it from had both the US version and the EU version wrote as the US version so it was impossible for me to know, but now that you refer to them by number i see they are different.

Thanks very much guys, I shouldnt have any more problems. Absolute gentlemen. If ever you need or would like a song which you cannot locate or would simply like to have pm me its where i specialise.

Take care.

EDIT:@Tom9927: what? do you mean it isnt workin? what isnt working the xdelta file itself or will it not download for you?

Missing a few pokemon I just can't seem to find. Zigzagoon, Meowth, Aipom, Phanpy, Teddiursa, Munchlax and Pachirisu. Where can I find them?

I'm curious about the Legendary Pokemon encounters. Are there certain places in the routes/areas that you have to be in to catch them, or is it just complete luck? I noticed in the room in the old mansion there's a portrait with red eyes. Said eyes close when you stand infront of the wall, do I have to stand directly infront of the portrait or a space away to activate the Darkai fight?
