There is one thing I know for a fact, that significantly helps with freezing and black screens, Make sure "Soft Reset" is off, I went for 2 hours without a freeze on the R4DS 1.18 Firmware

I have tried the first code now without SOFT RESET, (RTS) and it worked, im now on the way to the second gym and no freeze. I play with Sakura M3i Zero Newest Firmware.

Using Super Card One with Firmware DSONE SDHC Evolution V1.0 with the chinese ndsinfo from the supercard site.

Went from 20-30 mins random freezing to 40 mins without random freezing. No black screen / White screen / Blue screen / map card error

Using clean rom

I tried the anti-pirate Action Replay
The first one (with 4 lines) didn't work, I still got a freeze after leaving a room.

With the second one (8 lines of code) the whole game won't even start (white screen). And when it does start (sometimes) I get a black screen when loading the savegame.
Great work though! Keep it up

I'm using R4i SDHC (latest firmware) with YS Menu

If you are using a flashcart, such as the R4DS, there is a green "R" in the top right hand corner of the screen when you are picking the rom, press it and turn it red, this should help quite a bit
