Sadly, confirmed. US version does the same thing. Hangs on "Nintendo3DS" loading screen in Gateway mode and Classic mode. Can't be launched error when trying to open it on realNAND.

This is 2.0b2, of course. Switching back to 2.0b1 now, and I'll try it there, but chances are pretty much zero that turns out to be a solution. Seems they are using the 7.x encryption keys on Pokemon Bank like they did for the new Youtube app update. Pokemon fanatics might as well update their realNAND as long as they've played all the roms they want to already, because I think the solution for this is going to be a long time coming.

Just my two cents, though.

No, the save file is on the game card. It also saves a thingy to the NAND to check whether the save has been tampered with, but it doesn't save the whole file to the 3DS itself.
Wait, so can I pull up my Pokemon X save on a friend's 3DS?

If so, theoretically I could use my Black 2 retail cartridge on a friend's 3DS to transfer Pokemon to the Pokemon Bank, then use my Pokemon X cartridge to transfer those Pokemon to FROM the Pokemon Bank to my X save, and have all my Pokemon on my X cartridge on my 3DS?

That wouldn't take too long.

If you have emuNAND and your friend has 7.1 realNAND, no. 4.x-based saves and 6.x+ based saves are not compatible for games using the newer save encryption (Pokemon is one of these, but Zelda as well). I don't think there's any way to use Pokebank as it is unless you let a friend import the pokemon to HIS X/Y, then trade all of them to yours one by one.

Well damn. Guess I'll just get as many Pokemon as I can through X for now. Not anywhere near done with that, anyway. By the time I'm finished, who knows what the scene will have accomplished.

Seems like the easiest way to get around 7.x encryption keys would be to make the system think that emuNAND is realNAND and vice-versa, then boot emuNAND upon power up. Then again, that may be the most complicated solution programming-wise.

Starting emuNAND on powerup would mean redirecting one of the very first things that boot and those are read only AFAIK, so no such luck :P

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150

Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
