A while ago I decided to downgrade my Old 3DS XL and I regret it, I believe it is on version 3.1 as it has the early UI. I can't get the rosalina menu to open no matter what I try and I cant get any custom apps on the menu. I can't open the settings app, it just goes to a black screen and never loads. If i try to use safe mode, it says SAFE_MODE is not supported on 1.x/2.x firms.

Did you by chance make a nand backup before downgrading?

Why would you do that?

Something similar happened to me in 2021, I had made downgrade to my Old 3ds xl but in doing so many applications were corrupted and the sd slot, wifi and at that time I could do almost nothing with my 3ds but use it to play ds games with a r4 card.

Then I came up with the worst idea which was to update my 3ds, at that time I did not investigate much of what could happen to do so, and thought that the console would simply be updated and everything would return to normal (obviously never happened) and my console still had the luma in the nand, I could access godmode9 but as the sd slot was corrupted I could not put the script to solve the brick and now I still have the 3ds with nothing to do.

That's why YOU NEED A NAND BACKUP BEFORE DOING ANYTHING RISKY.
at that time I didn't know much about it (I should have done more research on the subject ;_;) and also I was taking too much risk doing things like that without having much information, now that I know how things work much better I would never do anything like that again.

No one's replied to this thread in the past month, so we'd already forgotten about it, actually.

But now that you've bumped it, perhaps you could give some details about what you did to fix your problem? A little searching just suggests that "kelonio 3ds" is a youtuber, and I for one have no interest in trying to sit through all of his likely-outdated videos.

My 3ds didn't read micro SD cards before for some reason, but when I formatted the SD from gm9 it recognized the micro SD again, so I downloaded the files from kelonio's video (ctransfer and the black lazarus script) and then ran them and updated luma, and it turned on the home menu (although I also used a flash card flashed in case it was necessary)
