Can someone help me with this? I tried editing my save adding bulbasaur, squirtle, and abra at the beginning as well as money, and some items but when I load my save and open the pokemon menu the screen turns white and gets stuck like that. hat am I doing wrong?

You can use PKHeX instead, it supports Gen 1. Also are you 100% sure you're saving your edits and not just re-injecting your original save?

Well Pokemon in Gen 1 can have 65,535 EVs in every single stat, there is no max cap. If you max them all it would be a total of 327,675. You just can not go over 65,535 in any individual stat. IVs on the other hand only go up to 15, so an 11 in Gen 1 would be equivalent to say a 23/24 in Gen 6/7.

I just wanted to give a HUGE thanks. I had a Pokemon Crystal cart that said my save file was corrupt. I used my old Pelican Brainboy to extract the save, copied it to my GB USB Smart Card GameBoy flash cart, used my PC to retrieve the save, and then was able to use the "Force Open" ability in Piksav to open it. All of the data was there but some pokemon names and item quantities were garbled. I was able to fix the names with the tool and then flash the save back to the cart. From there I put the pokemon in Bill's PC, and took them back out which seemed to get everything working properly again.

Old threat, I know, but does anyone know if Pikasav/PKHex can support modifying a translated Pokemon green save? I have issues with Pokemon names corrupting. Rather than taking them all to the name rater to fix their names, it would be nice to edit the save with an editor to fix them. Thanks!

I don't think this supports Japanese games at all, but even if it does, the translators just made up their own charset (as game freak did when creating the original game as well as the official translations) so it would be de facto useless anyway, you're probably better off creating your own mod of PkHeX (since that is open source)

Thanks for the reply. I have zero experience programming/coding, so I'd have no idea where to start and it's not worth it honestly. But thanks!
