Hi. I'd like to write some kind of PKHEX myself for fun, but first I need to deserialize/decrypt savegames. I'd like to know how to do that for every generation, but let's start with one of them first. I tried a very naive approach and opened .sav file in hex editor, but as expected, not much there. If anyone could point me in a right direction, some article/tutorial on how to read such saves (gen3-gen7), I would be glad, where which data resides in the savefile (trainer info, party, boxes, etc), how the checksum is being calculated etc. As a last resort I can fallback to rewriting PKHEX code in another language, but I would like to understand what I'm doing first.
EDIT:
It seems I was looking in the wrong place, using wrong google query. More info about how savefiles are structured can be found on bulbapedia and on another forum that I cannot link to bc it wont let me
