I have tried using the PGA2040 from Pimoroni for this but no success. It simply blinks red once and that is all nothing afterwards. I have connected all of the GPIO pins as required and even installed an addressable LED on GPIO16, because the Waveshare 2040has the LED connected there. Are there any other relevant hardware differences? I couldn't find much that has relevance. Has anyone successfully tried other Picos?
Maybe because the code (uf2 file) is specifically made for the rp2040-zero 🤔

Ok, thought you might say that :)

Using 'Chipquik' flux and an 'Atten ST-80' ulttafine soldering tip.
I just ordered a hot-air rework station & HD microscope & screen :/ a bit far fetched, but need a XAJ & XKJ done by Tuesday!

I have uploaded a video, but as a new user here it won't let me post it.
If you type in Youtube: 'Picofly Erista - MOSFET Bad CPU Pin' it will come up with my video.

I am meeting "A Friend" tomorrow who has a load of V1/V2 flexes left over, so fingers crossed it's defo my soldering!
I did do some original SX installs with these in the past and had no issues.

Thank you for your time,
Ant
Yeah I had the same issue with only one MOSFET then I added the second MOSFET and everything worked fine.
So if u added a second one its probably a soldering issue

BTW mine is a XKJ

Hey all.. installed on a V2, removed the HWfly to play with the rp2040.. I enabled RGB on back, I get Blue/ purple and OFW Boots instantly. I have a V2 flex cable install. All Points show Value.. I've tired another RP2040 without any desoldering and resistors facing forward but get the same issue.. thanks for any help..

Would adding a line to the 2nd pad on the Flex cable change anything as thats the other trace line on the flex cable?

sorry for orange photos not sure why it took them like that

Boot full stock and perform a full reset then it will work, espeically I'd it's been modded before

Ok thanks, how exactly do I add a second one?

Thanks,
Ant

I have a question.
Why is asking me for BIS Keys at booting SysNAND or EmuNAND?

@linuxares is it possible to edit the original post of this image saying it is wrong? I remember seeing it maybe a dozen pages ago but can't find it. Maybe it could help for the people to not repeat the same mistake again and again...
Sorry I'm not sure what you are asking? :S

Yeah something like that would make it way more user friendly since it reduces the amount of solder points

Just saw this on Ali:
US $10.28 | Newest V5 Dat0 Adapter For "D" "A" "C",work with hwfly oled chip v4v5
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mOsRTsK

Since it's preballed, should be fairly 'easy' to remove the emmc with a bottom heater and air wand (required tools, IMO), then just clean up all the pads and put everything back on. Think I'd still want to have a flex adapter to at least get a back up before fully redoing the BGA.

Is the removed cap just bridged?
Also I removed CMD point and it boots ofw, but with cmd connected it does nothing
I see we are using the same chip (rp2040 one) and it’s doing the same thing (one red blink). When I swap out rp2040 for a hwfly, it work just fine. I’m wondering if it’s the rp2040 one that's the problem.

Same here, rp2040zero works but not rp2040ONE.

You using 470 R, correct is 470 (or 47R)

currently the method is complicated and require soldering multiple cable lines, just wonder will there be a compact improvement of this one? like turning all of the stuff into something like hwfly?

Maybe, but you will still be required to be soldered to the points required
