I recommend using Verbatim DVD-R, and I've read that TDK is also a good quality brand. Personally, I'd invest in a USB drive, and then you won't have to worry about hurting the lens at all. Then give the fact that the games load faster, video sequences aren't choppy, and you don't have to fumble around with switching out discs, and I can't see why anybody wouldn't use USB loaders. Well maybe if you have a mod chip, but softmodding is the way to go for me.

A western Digital Mybook Essential has no spindown issues, is fast and looks good.
