i have a(nother) question for you folk. i have omega ruby retail cartridge. but it's not up to date. i can't access the nintendo e-shop. can i update it using a cia update? if so how do i do that? just install it with the retail cart in or what?

Use sysUpdate. You can find it on the forum.

Wait, are you trying to play online? You may need to update the gamecart .cia or spoof it. (?) I'm not quite familiar with that.

yeah, i wanna go online on my retail copy of OR. but i need to update the game to 1.4 first. so sysupdate isn't for that right?

No, no, no. You are very correct. sysUpdater is for downloading the original OFW packages needed to update to a specific firmware. I am not familiar with updating based on games, but Apache Thunder or @gamequest1 may be able to help you with this.

-Added an ARM9 ram dumper, for debug purposes
-Added support to PC Companion App
-Changed the system.txt handling
-Now to autoboot the gui, you don't have to create a bootmenu.txt file. You just have to use the PC Companion App.

PASTA CFW PC COMPANION 1.0
Since PastaCFW version 1.2, you can use the PC Companion app to change PastaCFW settings. For now, pc companion features are:
-Enable GUI autoboot
-Enable ARM9 RAM dumper at pastacfw boot
-See the latest firmware/type that PastaCFW has detected


FOR LINUX AND MAC USERS
THERE'S NO PC COMPANION APP FOR YOU, but you can apply its changes manually:

system.txt is composed by 3 char:

xyz

x=type (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,a,b) = detected model/firmware (you don't need to touch this)
y=gui autoboot ---> 0=disabled, 1=enabled
z=arm9dumper ---> 0=disabled, 1=enabled

Just edit system.txt with a txt editor and you're done!

I am currently using Palantine CFW. Will Pasta CFW let me update my sysnand to 9.2 so I can play my retail games from cart again?

Palantine uses an EmuNAND, so no, not directly.
You could reinstall the games/move the ticket (if they're linked; not sure you can move ticket if they're not) and transfer saves (savedatafiler to make sure), then do so certainly, but it's not (currently?) so basic a transition.

Edit: D'oh! Forgot the CN part. That'd be important.

Honestly, no... But we're a team composed by people which focuses on different things: dela on emunand, felipejfc on eshop spoof and regionfree, motezazer on firmloader ecc.. And i'm the one who organizes everything into some code files with a nice gui ;)
