Hi all. New member and just wanted to say thanks for the wealth of info here.

I do have a question though that I couldn't find an answer to. I am unable to play original Wii games now through the nintendo disc channel after installing HBC and WiiGator. Backups work as described, but my originals just make the drive click a lot if I try to access them through the normal disc channel. If I use WiiGator to boot my originals, the originals load fine - no long access time, no clicking. Is this normal? Should I have to load my original disc games through the backup channel as well or did I do something wrong along the way? I downgraded to 3.2U, installed Starfall, HBC and did the IOS updates per a comprehensive guide I found on the site.

Thanks for your help.

I also faced this after "freeing" a 3.3 Wii...
Still have no clue how to fix it....
backups and originals work through the backup loader.

But no original game works through the disc channel. The games show up in it, but after press Start, screen stays black.

Just downgraded 3.3 to 3.2, installed cios249rev7 and a backuploader channel....

Sounds like what I am experiencing as well. Sometimes the originals will work through the disc channel, but they are very slow in loading in the channel and make the loud (louder than normal) clicking/disc access noise. Sometimes they just click and I don't get anything in the disc channel. Load it through the backup loader and it is fast and fine. Thought maybe I was doing something wrong. I am using 3.2U by the way....

Well if the games show up in the disc channel, but you can't start them, maybe there is something wrong with the "game IOS", IOS9,IOS21,IOS36...
Try to run the IOS and cIOS downgraders again and watch out for errors.

Just tried to run the IOS downgrader like suggested but it just give mes the message to hit any button to restart the wii, it doesn't install anything. Should I try the cIOS downgrader then?

@Sicklyboy I happened to have ubisoft app already installed, so I just logged in and got the game and played with @Skv0ra

@realtimesave, uuugggghhhhhhh sounds like multiplayer doesn't work on Linux

    Because of the anticheat

Shouldn't be, because these anti cheat suites pretty much all natively support linux if I'm not mistaken, and it's down to a literal checkbox that they're not ticking.
  • Plazorn @ Plazorn:
Would you really install a kernel level anticheat program if it existed though? I sure wouldn't.
