Because the fact that GLCB was getting called something he's not for introducing a very simple and very viable idea that effectively bypasses the topics main problem irritated me.

Either way, it's not pointless, it makes sense. The AP Discussion is simply a place for people to discuss the AP. That's all. Not play it on Flashcarts, not play it on emulators, simply to discuss it.

That is all, I really see no point in discussing this further as it will only lead to circular arguments, Warn Ups, and a lot of deleted posts. We clearly see this from different points of view, and from what I can see that will not change.

Okay, so if somebody buys the game it works. I get that.
I also understand that if somebody buys the game, wants to keep it in great condition, makes a legal backup of the game for their flashcart (that they bought just for this purpose of preservation), and then they can't play it due to AP, they will want a fix.

So not everybody in this topic may want a fix for piracy issues. It could be that they don't want to use the actual cart because they collect.

So even though GLCB wasn't trying to troll, he still didn't go about it the best way by assuming everybody else is a pirate.

And assuming GLCB was trolling puts others at fault, especially considering how long he's been in the community.

So, there's something for everybody to think about. There IS a point to this thread, considering the possibility of the other sub-group of users I mentioned. GLCB wasn't trying to troll, but came across that way due to his lack of tact in the post. And those accusing him of trolling are at fault due to that not being on topic either (and in most cases it starts a troll and/or flame war, but in this case an off-topic argument). So everybody just needs to sit on their hands and stop saying who was right or wrong or if this topic has a point. If you don't like it, do the mature thing and don't post.

On-topic: Doesn't work on my EZFlash-Vi on the latest firmware and kernal. DSLite. Since I don't actually have the funds to go get the game myself right now (another sub-group to consider, broke people), I'll wait and see what happens. If any EZFlash specific updates take place to fix this, I'm downright positive that mbmax will be the one posting them.

The AP is regarding the rom though, not a another cart you have to buy, so you're still not quite on topic.

Anyway, hope its fixed soon, the game has looked quite good from what I've seen. Next on list for DS is layton 4, and may possibly be the last game I want for DS... All its classics I've played will live on however. Wish I had enough money for DSTWO, but I just didnt... If I did, I would probably not have gotten gears of war 3.

EDIT: OK maybe I was a bit harsh, but it just annoys me in situations like this. Someone always has to give a smartass/morally right answer instead of just helping out with what is quite obvious needs to be done. I'm not really in a rush to play the game, so I'm not coming back every 10mins to say "Is it done yet?!", but I would appreciate a fix, instead of someone telling me to buy the game, when games nowadays are SO overpriced and quite frankly not worth the money.

I just don't think hes totally on topic either though. Its about the AP of a "ROM" not the AP of an official "CART", this is about AP of a DIGITAL copy, not AP of a PHYSICAL copy.

Sweet! Am I right in thinking people can analyse this patch for DSTWO and determine how they got kirby working and it can spread to help other carts play the ROM correctly?

Except that bypassing the AP is exactly what this topic is about. Telling us to forget it IS a bad idea, because it does sound like a pointless troll answer. If you don't like this thread, why don't you just forget it?

OK I guess I re-started the argument, shouldnt have said anything now, ha ha.
Just forget about it, the topic is about fixing the AP of the digital ROM though, the file itself, not the cart.
I understand the rom is in the cart, but the cart is kinda the rom in a way. e.g. .nds = cart
Opening the .nds reveals files inside, same as opening cart opens files inside.

Anyway, forget it, I'm not arguing about this, lets just focus on the good news shall we?
This means the fix should spread to other carts soon right?

Oh boy, finally a reason to have an AP thread....there are actually AP fixes!

I don't see that we even needed this thread until at least one fix was found.
All it does is promote whining about how long the AP fix is taking, and give people a chance to gripe at one another about whether piracy is right or not.

Let me make this perfectly clear:
If you're going into an AP thread to tell people to buy the game; Close the page.
Yes, even if all they're doing is whining about how they can't play their ill-gotten game on day one.
Because it's just going start a muck-flinging argument.
Those of us who take part in piracy are all aware that purchasing the game is an option. It's in the back of everyone's mind. We don't need a reminder of that.
If you don't want to pirate (anymore) then I think that's fantastic.
It means that game producers will get more of their hard earned pay, and new games might be produced on down the road.
But irritating those who choose not to buy the game is needless.

On the flip-side of the coin:
When you get someone talking about buying the game in an AP thread (because you can rest assured that not everyone is going to listen to this warning) don't further turn the thread into a bitch-fest by slinging accusations of trolling around. Because this is not actually "trolling".
However you can report it. If the topic of the thread is making a game work on a flashcart, then the comment is certainly off-topic and derailing.

If we're all going to get along here we need to accept that there will be a great many people who take paths different from our own.
