I have successfully been playing wbfs and iso wii games using 2 different verbatrim 32g usb sticks. I have wbfs backup manager. The problem comes when I attempted to put all of the games on my new Lexar 128g 3.0 USB. Mostly because it is a pain to switch USBs for my 5 year old. It would be great to have all of the games in one place. I don't want him touching the actual discs. I know the games work, because they work on the 32g usb sticks. Any tips or tricks to get them all located on the same USB? Thank you for all of your help. Definitely a noob, but able to follow the clear directions that have been provided and gotten me this far :)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I mean downloaded ISOs. I can use USB Loader GX or another USB Loader and the games will work for about a day then they just simply wont load :/
I have noticed that if you try to play a game on disc after usb, you need to reload homebrew, bootmii, and usb loader all over again. We use the USB loader to play the discs instead. Could it be that?

I figured as much. Just thought I would ask. Even homebrew or missing wouldn't help? I don't really have the time or motivation to do so... Just curious
No, sorry. Wii Shop titles are signed with a key that's specific to the console. If you can recover the keys and certificates from the Wii it might be possible.

So, the games don't properly load on the 128g? If so, check if both of the USB devices are FAT32. (just a wild guess)

I have a PAL Wii and I'm trying to find WADs (N64, SNES, etc.) but I hardly can find any. Only broken links. And if I can find any, they are NTSC.
So I have two questions:

1. Where can I still find working WADs?
2. (How) can I play NTSC wads on my PAL wii?

I have a hacked Wii that runs games on USB Loader GX.

If I want to play Gamecube and WiiWare games, do I need to make any additional hacks or just place the apps on the Homebrew Channel?

Gamecube games go in "/games/Game Name [TitleID]/game.iso" (example: "/games/SSX On Tour [GXOE69]/game.iso" For two disc games the second should be named "disc2.iso" and in the same folder.

You can make a folder called "/nand" or "/nands/whatever" then point USB Loader GX at it under Custom Paths>Nand Channel Emu. Then go to Features and select dump NAND at the bottom of the list. You can then use the WAD manager in the Features menu to install WiiWare/VC wads to it and run them.

Hi!

I have softmoded my wii and it won't work..
Can someone point me to an up-to-date guide for homebrew and usb loader.
I have tried a hand full of guides out there, most of them by Cyan but I still can't get it working.
The furthest I have gotten is that I can load a game via usb loader GX, but as soon as I try to srat the game, when it is suposed to load, there is just a black screen.

Right now i have homebrew IOS58 v24.32
the Usb loader GX is 2.3 r1123

And for the moment the loader wont even start...
Can someone please help me #newbie

That's an extremely old version of USB Loader GX. The latest is here. Note that if you have a full channel version you'll need to remove it and install the v5.1 forwarder channel. (It's in the files section on the Sourceforge link.)

You also need a cIOS installed to load Wii games.

As I am a total newbie on this, may I ask you to give me a short guide on the things you just told me to do, hope that I'm not to much trouble.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Now I have run the forwarder and I have USB loader GX v3.0 rev. 1262.
And when I start the loader it freezes on "loading... Initialize usb device"

Run SysCheck and post the .csv file contents. (Use the version in that link and follow the directions on how to use it and post the report in spoiler tags.) The report will show what IOSes are installed on your Wii.

How can you see if you have a full channel version? And how do you remove it?

Hi. So, i'm having a problem with USB loadergx. Ever since i installed nintendont i cant get my wii games to run. When i attempt to start a wii game the screen will go black and i am forced to restart my wii. To my knowledge i'm running the latest version (v3.0 rev 21010) as well as d2x cIOS v10. The flash drive that I try run them on is formatted to FAT32 and i use wiibackup manager to transfer them to the flash drive. What am i doing wrong here? Cheers

Hi...

First, Install d2x-v8 version. Don't use the Beta d2x-v10beta53-alt, it's not perfect.

And Second, if not work, try using another thumb drive or better if you can, use an HD.

I was originally using d2x-v8 but that didnt work either. Thing is, I wouldn't have thought it necessary to use another drive considering this one was working at a point previous.
