I have been wanting to do a replay of Knights of The Old Republic 2 using the Switch version and some mods, such as the essential TSLRCM, but it turns out that the only ready-to-use version isn't just TSLRCM, but also includes other mods, including one that removes one of my favorite companions (the handmaiden) from the game:

I tried to do it myself instead, but unfortunately as a complete noob in modding I couldn't even start the process successfully, let alone finish it >_>. Not to mention that I found no video guides for the Switch version.

So in summary I would really appreciate it if anyone who has (or can make) the Switch version of TSLRCM without any extra mods can share it here. I would very much appreciate having some extra mods too (such as the Party Swap mod that allows you to have both the handmaiden and the disciple in your game, the "no jealousy lock" mod, or any mod with extra quests or planets) , especially if each was separate so one can pick which mods he wants, but even just TSLRCM alone ready for use would be great.

I know this is probably a longshot, but I would really appreciate it. Thanks :).

PS: Here is the latest modding framework that I found in my research:

2nd PS: reposting this because I made some errors when I wrote the first topic.

i downgraded to the same you are using it works fine but jksv stopped working and crashed my switch if you have any clue about this could be helpful
Unfortunately, I'm not that well versed in Switch modding. I only got so involved with this mod because nobody else seemed to have done it yet. I knew how frustrating it had to be for others because it had me nearly going insane trying to follow the other guides.

I haven't used JKSV since the 3DS >_> It might be worth making a new post about it here on this forum where it would be more visible to the people who know what they're doing. Best of luck and thanks for helping work this out.

Yes the new atmosphere release has smaller memory for mods and it gives that fatal error you can look for the full explanation in the github page of atmosphere what im trying to do rn is downgrade to a past firmware and atmosphere but i wouldnt recommend its very long and i nearly got soft bricked
Damn that sucks. Guess I’ll have to stick to TSLRCM on my phone

After like a month of trying, I think I finally got it figured out and decided to write up a step-by-step guide here for anyone who gets led to this post by Google or something. I also included a direct download (above) of my folder setup for anyone who just wants to download it.

UPDATE: I did this on Atmosphere 1.8.0, but it appears mods may not work on newer versions of Atmosphere at this time.

Step 1) Downloads
  • The three .zip files from Stellar's post, which is the first link in FFTW's post here
  • TSL Restored Content Mod 1.8.6 from Deadly Stream
  • tga2tpc 4.0.0 from Deadly Stream
  • DO NOT try to use the Switch Framework 2.3.0, which is the second link in FFTW's post here
Step 2) Prep
  • Run the tslrcm2002.exe and let it "install" to a new folder. You can delete the bottom four files (2 readme, 2 unins000)
  • Extract the other four .zip files.
Step 3) Modding
  • Copy everything from the new folder tslrcm2002 created. Paste it into KotOR_II_Switch_Modding_Framework_1_0_2\atmosphere\contents\0100B2C016252000\romfs\Localized\English
  • Copy the dialog.tlk file from the "SWITCH TSLRCM dialog FIXED" folder and paste it in that \Localized\English folder to replace the old one.
  • Go into the "Infinite Buzzing Fix" folder, copy the "atmosphere" folder, and paste it into the "KotOR_II_Switch_Modding_Framework_1_0_2" folder
Step 4) tga2tpc
  • Run the tga2tpc application.
  • Click the folder icon next to "Queue" and create a new folder to export the .tpc files to.
  • Click the "+TGA" button and navigate to \Localized\English folder again. Now go into the Override folder, select all of the .tga files in it, and click "open."
  • Click the "Run" button and wait.
  • When it's finished, go into that new folder and copy all the new .tpc files.
  • Go back to your \Localized\English\Override folder and delete all the .tga files you just used.
  • Create a new folder inside Override, name it "Textures" and paste the .tpc files in that folder.
Step 5) Finishing Up
  • Cut the "Override" folder from your \Localized\English folder.
  • Go back up twice to your "romfs" folder and paste the "Override" folder here.
  • Go back up to your "KotOR_II_Switch_Modding_Framework_1_0_2" folder and copy the "atmosphere" folder from there to the root of your Switch.
  • That's it! Run the game on your Switch and it should now show the "Restored Content Mod 1.8.6" text on your main menu screen.
Can you reupload your modded folder the link is down

For anyone coming here, I've made guides for modding Kotor 1 and 2 on the Switch. They are based on the neocities modding guides. Kotor 1 has all but 8 mods working, 2 has all but 4. Hope it helps someone
