Update HBC in case you aren't running the latest version. It's likely you're still using IOS61, the latest HBC uses IOS58 which requires installing IOS58 and reinstalling HBC (covered in the guide).

1. Which firmware should I update to? 4.2 or 4.3?
If you are following the guide you mentioned, update to 4.2, although several people have stated that updating is unnecessary for softmodding.
42mod.zip, when you email the address in the guide, a reply will come with links to all the zip files and you download 42mod.zip and i forgot the name of the other one.hendu said:2. Do/Should I need a to download 42/43mod.zip? If so do I really need to email someone to get it?

up to you, i've never done it. I think its for playing GC backups?hendu said:4. Do/Should I need to install Bootmii?
YES and make sure to make a NAND backup. I always think its better to do the NAND backup right after installing BootMii/HBC for the first time (before updating system menu).
7. Do/Should I need to install cMIOS?hendu said:5. Do/Should I need to install cIOS?

If you choose IOS249, it's because IOS249 is stubbed.
Try IOS(2)36.
Ah yesmortal_marcel said:IOS 236 is not on the list. When trying IOS36 i get an "Install ERROR! (ret = -1035)"
Other sources on the net say I should remove the stubbed IOS249?
tj_cool said:Ah yes
ret= -1035 does indeed mean that there is a stub blocking the way (well, not exactly, but in this case it does). You can do 2 things:
1) Remove the Stub (with DOP-Mii for example) then try again.
2) Grab the IOS235 Installer and use it to install IOS236. Then use IOS236 for the cIOS install (which will not give you the ret error)
