Again sorry if this has been asked lots, but 700 pages is a lot to check.
I have dug out my old wii that I modded years and years ago because I could but never used! Its on 3.4e.
I cant remember what I did I know it has USB loader GX but any games I use now will not load, the external hdd (fat32) I am using is not recognised. Is the wii temperamental to what external hdd work.
So is there something I can do to update the console to see if new programs work? I started watching a video on youtube about resetting to factory settings but says how risky it is so dont see the point to reset it to re-hack?
Also is it ok connecting to the internet? Any benefits to doing this?
Thanks for your time.

First, never follow a video tutorial. They're often wrong and/or out of date.

I recommend performing a sysCheck and using it with ModMii to update what needs to be upated.

thanks for the quick reply, I have just stumbled across modmii, just reading up on it. Can I ask what running a sysCheck is going to show me?
thanks
The sysCheck is going to list everything installed to the Wii's NAND and the version strings. ModMii can look at this and output only the things that need updating.

Hi there,

I don't know if I should try this ModMii thing... But I have a modded Wii that I bought a few years ago... I don't think I got any of the NAND stuff to repair the problem I am having with it... And I don't know what to do with it...

The console starts may 1/2 of the time correctly. The other times, when I press on the Power button, it powers on, but the, after the initial message where you are asked to press A, the screen turns black and the machine tells me that the files are corrupted. (I believe they refer to this has a banner brick ??)

Sometimes, it does this after closing a game instead of reaching the Wii menu...

Any help, advice, guidance would be awesome !

PS: Is there a way to factory reset the thing if worse comes to worse ? I once did a Wii mod using the letterbomb method and succeeded... And that machine still works good.

THANKS IN ADVANCE !

Ironbass :)

U have a lot of unnecessarily patched IOSs, indicative of a prior DarkCorp or cioscorp installation (designed to get backup discs to play from the disc channel). This type of modification is generally viewed as very invasive and may prevent other things from working properly or as expected.

I suggest you use modmii to open your syscheck, it will help you update your mods to the generally agreed upon optimal configuration. In your case it will involve installing many clean/original/unpatched Nintendo IOSs.

Hi, this is me again. last week I tried ModMii and looked at the options there. And I need confirmation from the seniors here.

previous

For which choice should I choose? My Wii is Korean (K) but the system menu is USA (3.2U).
U-or-K.jpg

Is it okay to do default System Menu upgrade from 3.2U to unofficial 4.1?

Thank you.

Thanks XFlak !

If I understand correctly, I need to get myself the ModMii app to try to fix my problem. I just downloaded ModMii, I'm just not sure how to use it to complete what I have to do.

You say ''use modmii to open your syscheck''... How does that work ? Should I use the ModMii Wizard ?

Sorry about the Newbee question, I just want to be certain I understand exactly what to do as I don't want to wreck my son's Wii ! :)

Thanks for your help !

You can "Drag and Drop" your sysCheck.csv on the ModMii Shortcut and then the ModMii Update Window should open automatically:

Ohne Tzzzzzitel-1.jpg

Then the Blue ModMii Update Window should appear/open:

Ohne Titzzzzzel-1.jpg

It opens a Guide and downloads the needed Files to your PC.:)

Good Luck
Thank you.:)

Did not complete on the Download or on the Install Process please ?
Which WAD Manager (for the Installation) did you have used please ?
Multi Mod Manager,WiiMod Lite or YAWMM ?
If you have Issues with Multi Mod Manager please try WiiMod Lite:
https://github.com/RiiConnect24/Wii-Mod-Lite/releases

Good Luck.
Thank you.:)

Hi there !

I think all 32 of them managed to install with WiiMod Lite... I mean, how can I be sure ? I didn't get any error message or anything after my batch install...

So what do I do now ? Do I have to clean any unnecessary files or anything else ?

Thanks a lot for your help !

Ironbass :) :) :)
