I am running 3.3 with CIOS10 installed. I want to update to CIOS17 to run Triiforce. The tutorial I am following for updating to CIOS17 mentioned that I need to have Trucha-signed IOS 36.

Are there any homebrew programs or any methods that allows me to check whether I have a Trucha-signed IOS 36?

Im trying to run Okami through NeoGamma. It seems to read the disc fine, but instead of launching into the game, the screen turns to fuzz, and the wii freezes. any ideas?

oh awesome, thank you!

Is that the software I need to convert my hard drive into a Wii compatible one too then?
First format your drive to fat32. Then use this tool http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/ba...-backup-manager to add games to your hdd. You will get a lot more than 10 games in there because some are as low as a few hundred mb. You should also get cfg usb loader from here http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/ba...able-usb-loader to play the games.

I feel bad for having to ask instead of looking but I'm a very lazy guy

But anyway is there some sort of Homebrew app that can skip disc updates for store bought and burned games? Because all those new wii games coming out are probably gonna have updates and I really don't want to lose homebrew. Oh and if it's important my firmware is 3.2 on an american wii.

With the upgrade to 4.3, I have a question with regard to upgrading.

I have a Wii that is 4.0 and playing backups fine. However a few games wont load, which I assume is due to the older iso being used.

Can I simply update the ios files as it is not clear what is needed or not needed in the guide ?? I was going to simply upgrade to 4.2 and follow the guide but cant do that now.

Which ios do I need to load if not moving to 4.2 ?

Thanks

I read the Wii Motion Plus games (Resort and Red Steel) have problems running as backups, I'm planing on buying one of these but I can't use the disc channel right now (cus of the update and I'm to lazy to run Priiloader)

Will I have any problem playing the original version on Neogamma?

I run RS2 from Usb loader just fine off my HDD.

If you read the guide from the start you should notice the first part upgrades your system menu to 4.2 so you don't have to download the update.

Is it okay to install a new system update to virginize your Wii instead of following guides and removing everything manually?
Oh, and why isn't this thread stickied?!

You have to remove it manually. Wii system update would update you to 4.3 where you cant use bannerbomb.

I meant this in a theoretical sense.
If I were to update to a new system update to virginize a Wii, would it cause any problems (bricking, etc.) instead of manually virginizing the Wii.

hye i just got my wii back from repair, after i formatted it using comex's Nand formatter. Thankfully nothing was detected, and the repaired my wii for me. I have 2 questions. first is it possible that they replaced my DVD drive with the new one, and second does anyone want the NAND to analyze to see what Nintendos anti-hombrew software missed?

When in doubt, use the noob thread. So, I don't really know where exactly I stand with all this stuff. My Wii has been through a lot of shit, and it's still working just fine with hacks.

4.1U, bootmii as boot2 (have Nand backup), installed with TP hack on 3.2.

But I've got random outdated version numbers of just about everything. I think I'm on preloader .29 and HBC 1.03. Being a fool, like I was back in the day, I used cioscorp so I could run burned discs through the disc channel, which I have learned later is really bad for the Wii and thus making it unable to update preloader and HBC. Now that I've invested into another external hard drive, I'm using my old smaller one to be dedicated for USB loading. I believe I no longer need the disc channel hacks, if I understand this correctly.

I have read that updating to 4.3 of course is very bad, but I'm under the impression that I can update to 4.2 and still Bannerbomb, rehack and whatever. But my questions are, what's the best way to remove all the cioscorp bullshit? If I update to 4.2 will I lose the ever so important boot2/preloader? (I think that last one's a yes, actually, based on some research).

All in all, what I'm aiming for is, 4.1U menu, preloader/boot2, no Cioscorp, still keeping Trucha bug, and all that important stuff.

Thanks.

Yes, you can.

Simply use the sticky guide at the top of the Hacks thread to update to 4.2

It will update all your IOS's to the latest (except for 4.3 shit) essentially removing CIOSCORP, and then allow you to rehack at 4.2

Can anyone give me a noob friendly guide to update the shop channel but not the system menu?

I've heard WIISCU and Dop-Shop but have no idea what I'm doing. Help please?

Is it possible to update a Wiikey from USB? I tried GC Tool to extract it, but it didn't really work. I can't seem to get it to boot properly. I'm trying to get NSMBW to work and the 1.99 beta apparently fixes it.

im on a 4.2U wii and trying to install bootmii as boot2, but it only lets me install as an IOS. Before i sent it to Nintendo for GPU repair i formatted it to virgin status. Im assuming when i did that i updated it to boot2v4. I know I got my wii back (not a new one) because it has the GC port cover doesnt close completly, and it has a very small scratch in the back. Because my Wii is not a LU64+ can i downgrade it back to 4.0 so i can have boot2 again or at least restore my NAND through the IOS Bootmii (i know its risky, but how exactly?) Is it likely that I have the new board?

Hi,

I've modded my Wii as per the stickied guide. Everything working really well.

However, if I want to update my CIOS 249(57) to CIOS249(38), can I just install the new CIOS WAD (using MMM) over the top of CIOS 249(57) or should I uninstall it (using MMM) or should I detete it (using something like Any Title Deleter).

Many thanks.

Epp.
